AutoZone (NYSE: AZO)‘s stock had its “neutral” rating reiterated by Zacks in a research note issued to investors on Wednesday. They currently have a $379.00 price target on the stock.

Zacks‘ analyst wrote, “AutoZone posted an 18.7% year-over-year increase in earnings per share to $6.28 for the third quarter of fiscal 2012, which exceeded the Zacks Consensus Estimate by a penny. Profits were up 9.3% to $248.6 million compared with $227.4 million in the year-ago quarter. Revenues swelled 6.7% for the quarter to $2.1 billion, which was in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Domestic same store sales (sales for stores open at least one year) increased 3.9%. AutoZone is focused on an aggressive share repurchase program along with expansion of hub stores. But we are concerned about the rising gas prices and stiff competition that may impact the company’s margins. As such, we continue with our Neutral recommendation on the stock and set a target price of $379.00. “

AZO has been the subject of a number of other recent research reports. Analysts at JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) cut their price target on shares of AutoZone from $435.00 to $425.00 in a research note to investors on Wednesday. Separately, analysts at Nomura (NYSE: NMR) reiterated a “buy” rating on shares of AutoZone in a research note to investors on Wednesday. Finally, analysts at UBS AG (NYSE: UBS) raised their price target on shares of AutoZone to $400.00 in a research note to investors on Wednesday. They now have a “neutral” rating on the stock.

AutoZone traded up 3.24% on Wednesday, hitting $372.84. AutoZone has a 1-year low of $266.25 and a 1-year high of $399.10. The company has a market cap of $14.530 billion and a price-to-earnings ratio of 16.85.

AutoZone last released its earnings data on Tuesday, May 22nd. The company reported $6.28 earnings per share for the quarter, beating the analysts’ consensus estimate of $6.26 by $0.02. AutoZone’s revenue was up 6.8% compared to the same quarter last year. Analysts expect that AutoZone will post $5.43 EPS next quarter.

Zacks‘ analyst wrote, “We are maintaining our Neutral recommendation on ExxonMobil following its first quarter 2012 report. Earnings dropped on a year-over-year basis due to lower production volumes. We remain concerned by the company’s weak oil and gas production. Due to its integrated functions, Exxon is also susceptible to the downside risk from any weakness in the global economy. However, we believe that XOM will retain its leverage to higher oil prices going forward given its significant share in the upstream business. Moreover, Exxon is the best run integrated oil company in the world, given its track record of superior return on capital employed. Therefore, we advocate it as a core holding for investors seeking a defensive name with continued dividend growth.”

Exxon Mobil traded up 0.11% on Wednesday, hitting $82.04. Exxon Mobil has a 52-week low of $67.03 and a 52-week high of $87.94. The company has a market cap of $383.6 billion and a price-to-earnings ratio of 9.90.

Exxon Mobil last posted its quarterly earnings results on Thursday, April 26th. The company reported $2.00 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, missing the consensus estimate of $2.09 by $0.09. The company’s revenue for the quarter was up 8.8% on a year-over-year basis. Analysts expect that Exxon Mobil will post $2.06 EPS next quarter.

Several other analysts have also recently commented on the stock. Analysts at Barclays Capital (NYSE: BCS) reiterated an “equal weight” rating on shares of Exxon Mobil in a research note to investors on Tuesday, April 24th.
