Recently, (a month ago) I was in a car accident and had a head trauma. Cat Scan showed no hemmorraging. My chiropractor specailizes in neurology and says I have a MID BRAIN injury. HE USED THE WORD DYSTONIA and now I'm worried. He's doing eye exercises with me and some other stuff. The CT scan said I have "DENSE CALCIFICATION OF CONNECTIVE TISSUES BETWEEN THE FALX" - WHICH WOULD SEEM TO ME HAS BEEN THERE A WHILE. LOOKING BACK, I HAD SEVERAL MAJOR HEAD TRAUMAS AND FALLS AND I'M SURE UNDAIGNOSED CONCUSSIONS, (my father threw me face down on the floor in an alcoholic rage when I was 2 )TERRIBLE DEPRESSIONS RAGES AND TROUBLE ORGANISING MYSELF AND FOLLOWING THROUGH. i'M EXTREMELY BRIGHT, intuitive, sensitive AND GIFTED (AND ALSO HUMBLE, HA HA) BUT YOU CAN'T BUILD A LIFE ON POTENTIAL. i HAVE FELT IMPAIRED BUT UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE STARTING GATE OF LIFE IN SPITE OF YEARS OF THERAPY, SELF HELP AND SPIRITUAL STUDY. COULD IT BE IT'S BEEN MY BRAIN ALL ALONG? I AM STARTING TO THINK SO. I GET YOUR NEWSLETTER AND I THINK YOUR WORK IS BRILLIANT. When I see you talk on PBS, I feel happy. I live just outside of St. Louis. Some of Seth's problems seem similar to mine although I have been diagnosed as having severe depression and have been treated with the same combinations of medicine for more than 25 years. It has been observed by many that with the rise and decrease of marijuana use there has been no correlation to mental illness reportings. If it truly increased your chance of psychosis, wouldn't the more marijuana being used at the time result in more psychosis incidents? and to be simple and blunt, i don't give a shit what this says about effects on the brain, it has been proven to help prevent the growth and development of head, neck, and prostate cancer so I'll keep my weed.
