Inventory asset management plays a defined role in the inventory management software industry. Instead of tracking the products a company sells, inventory asset management software tracks a company's assets. These are the things that make up a large part of the dollar value worth of a business, as if the business were put on the market for outright sale.
Not that any particular business is contemplating putting itself up for sale, but these things are accounted for regularly for various reasons. In order for the company to secure financing and loans, for large projects, it may have to place a value on the business as proof of collateral or net worth. The actual current value of the business may be used for reporting to shareholders and investors. These reports may play a role in the value of their stock offerings.
Everything on this earth only has a limited life span, from the form we know in new condition, until its unrecognizable and unusable deterioration. A flower, in bloom, may only last a day, but a rock lasts, perhaps, millions of years. Everything is relative, but everything disintegrates someday. A company's assets are like that too. While part of a company's assets may be its buildings that last decades, until they are too run down, and no longer maintainable, another part of their assets may be their fleet of vehicles that only have useful value for a few years.
Inventory asset management software tracks these changes in deterioration and value of a company's assets. This information is used for many reasons. The very first thing to do if you want to find out how to speed up a computer that is in go slow mode is to use the defrag utility and defragment your hard drive. It is actually a good idea to do this regularly and do it weekly if you use your computer a lot. You can set it to come on and defrag your system automatically if you wish. you can do this from the windows start menu then all programs -> accessories -> system tools.
This utility will look in your hard drive and find all the bits of data that are not in the right place. This is generally what causes the computer to slow down because the computer has to spend time searching for what it needs, rather that just getting the data from where it should be.
