Join us on March 3rd when the soul sistahs of Full Circle perform to Lisa Lisa’s” Can you Feel the Beat” to mark the 5th annual concert that raises awareness about the health issues affecting our communities and bring light to female Hip-hop artists taking place at Hostos Community College near the 149th street station of the 2 and the 5 train in the Bronx.  This year we are joined by B girls Tomomi and Tiffany who return to Full Circle since 2006.  New B girls Toko and Hayley will contribute a duet and their solos to the dance performance.  G I Jane and J  La Rok returns to make this their 4th year of supporting the women’s history concert.

On March 11th, All The Ladies Say will participate in Man Up’s photo Exhibition “Through our lens” at CPW Gallery on 62nd Street  and Central Park West at 1:30pm. www.manupcampaign.org

Looking back on 2011 brings a feeling of satisfaction and renewed diligence to stay on the path of sharing ATLS with any and all. Last year we brought the message of Women in Hip-hop dance to Lincoln Center’s 39th Dance on Camera Film Festival,  NJPAC’s Alternate Routes 10 year celebration in Newark,  Passages Correctional facility in the Bronx, Oakland’s B girl Jam Barbecue, Chicago’s Northeastern University, the East Harlem International Film Festival and at the Maysles Cinema for the Man Up film festival. Wow!

We are still raising funds to work on the sound mix of the full version of the film and have made some connections with people who take care of that aspect for us. Thanks to Bam Bam for always providing leather wrist cuffs to help with merchandise sales and to Kwikstep for creating T shirt designs and to Melissa Ulto for the website and technical support. Thank you to Jennifer Armas for her help with website correspondence.

At this point we are looking to screen this film at the end of February at Manhattan’s City College and at UC San Diego in March with help from DJ Kuttin Kandi.

The ladies of Full Circle are scheduled to perform at Momma’s Hip-hop Kitchen at Hostos Community College for the fourth year in a row for International Womens Day on March 3rd! Once again, they will donate their performance fee to help with film project expenses. Check out www.mhhk.org  for more info on the FREE women’s concert.

Thank you to everyone who attended Birth of the Boom concert to raise funds for NYC Hospitals! Lady Champ, Macca and Lady Beast who all came in from their respective home towns of Chicago, Philadelphia and Boston to join us in he B girl segment/tribute held it down proudly! Footage from the ATLS was projected onto two huge LED screens during our perormance! Rokafella rocked her version of Just Begun! Susan Jacobs and Jeff Oppenhim thank you for inviting us to participate in the Birth of the Boom concert at the Paradise Theater in the Bx!!!

Thank you to Claudio Leon who invited Rok to screen the film and teach a dance class at Passages Juvenile Correctional facility in October. The discussion afterwards was deep and motivating as well as the dance class with the ladies! Hip-hop is a positive force and the testimonies of this film are impacting so many people to keep believing that they can make the changes happen if they truly feel like it is necessary to survive. Work on your skills, take the chance and create your destiny!

Rokafella will teach a one time only “Floor Moves” Intermediate level dance class at Broadway Dance Center on November 26th–Saturday after Thanksgiving– at 1pm. Hope to see you there!

As part of the effort to stop violence against women the Man Up campaign is holding a film festival at Maysles Cinema 343 Lenox (127th street) on December 3rd and has invited ATLS to be screened with post screening discussion so please mark your calendars for 4pm and spread the word. We will be collecting donations at this screening as well to help with the film’s legal and sound mix production expenses E Flyer soon to follow! 212 582 6050. Back in ’09, we screened the 20 minute version of the film (thank you to Jessica Green) at Maysles to help generate funds so we can continue editing so this feels very full circle-ish!

The women’s concert was followed by an afterparty at Hollywood with Dj Ron Ron spinning beats that also made it perfect for any freestyling MC’s to get on the mic and share their voice with those gathered. We want to give a shout to Gary Soriano who also helped by giving a donation to the film project saying his organization T.R.I.B.E understands the challenge of keeping a visionary cause afloat. Thank you to him and his peeps!

Aiko and Rokafella will travel to Chicago on October 21st to join Lady Champ at North Eastern Illinios University for the U.N.I.T.Y  Culture Hip-hop conference. All The Ladies Say will be screened two times and dance classes will be offered as well as a closing concert with local female MC’s and DJ’s!!

We also wanted to thank New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Hip-hop Dance Conservatory for their continuous support of our film project during their summer programs.

The film has been screened in its entirety at The Rosedale Girls Achievement Center located in the Bronx in July followed by four dance classes with Rokafella.

We were invited to participate in Alternate Routes Hip-hop Festival on April 9th within the Ladies First activities. We are screening the film at 1pm followed by a discussion with other female artists/entrepreneurs.  Thank you to Kitab, Andreas, Baraka Sele, and Martha Diaz.

The attendance was great and the feedback was also very insightful. We were embraced at the concert for our dance moves and our warrior essence.
