Your tour begins atop the Colle Oppio with a panoramic view of the Colosseum, Rome's most recognizable landmark. Next, you will skip the long lines and gain special access to the Colosseum. Once inside, your expert official guide will take you through the bloody past of the amphitheater as you listen to tales of gladiators, mock sea-battles and executions.

After a brief rest at the Arch of Constantine, you will arrive at the Palatine Hill, the most famous of the seven hills of Rome. On the short walk to the temple entrances, your guide will explain the history of the site, including details of the UNESCO-led relocation of the entire cliff face to higher ground, and how the temples were discovered by accident in 1813. Due to the large number of visitors to Abu Simbel, guides are not permitted inside either the Great Temple of Ramses II or the smaller Temple of Hathor. However, by using photos and illustrations, your guide will explain to you the structures and their interior artworks. You will then have free time to enter the temples and explore them at your leisure.

As one of the few ancient Egyptian sites which largely escaped damage by past invaders, the interiors of Abu Simbel's temples are astounding. The scale of the buildings and their detailed decoration leaves most visitors in awe. The temples' attraction is further enhanced by their scenic location on the edge of Lake Nasser in the orange sands of the desert.

Each animal has a function on the nature trails thriving ecosystem, some of the animals found within the Haller park sanctuary include; hippos, giraffes, cape buffalo, zebra and waterbucks, as well as more than 160 bird species have been introduced to the area including weaver birds, cranes, pelicans and storks.

Giraffes, lions, leopards, springboks, zebras, black and blue wildebeest are just some of the wildlife inhabiting the reserve. There are also good opportunities to see crocodiles and, if you are very lucky, you might even spot the illusive mountain leopard.

Aquila Game Reserve has a large natural wetland and bird-watching opportunities are plentiful. It is home to over 170 species of birds, including the endangered black eagle which the reserve is named after.

Your first stop today will be the Majorelle Garden. Designed by expatriate French artist Jacques Majorelle, the gardens were somewhat neglected after the painter's death. Now restored to its former glory by Yves Saint-Laurent, these botanic gardens are now a haven of peace in city of chaos.

Continue your tour with a visit of the Menara Garden and basin at the entrance to the Atlas Mountains. A summer residence of sultan Abderrahmane, the area is surrounded by orchards and olive groves. Before returning to your hotel in Marrakech, you will cross the Agdal Gardens on a horse and carriage ride through the ruins in Hivernage and Mamounia.
