As required by the Club's rules the Annual General Meeting is to be held at the Club house on Sunday 6 December 2009 at 10.30am.

The draft Agenda is set out below. (The AGM will be followed by the Club's annual RYA Sailability Pursuit Race)

The management Committee gives notice that the following resolutions are to be decided at the AGM:-

? Approval of the Club's accounts for the year ended 31 August 09

? Elections of Officers and others

Detailed in the Nov Owl are the Management Committee's nominations of Officers, Committee Members and Class Captains. Members have the right to nominate alternative club members for Management Committee positions. Any nominations proposed and seconded in writing by two members together with the nominated member's acceptance of the nomination should be submitted to the Hon Secretary by no later than 3 December 09. In the event of a contested position, a ballot will be held at the AGM. All members of the club are invited to attend the AGM. A quorum of 25 owner members is required.

New Padlock Code from 18th Oct

As a matter of routine, we will be changing the padlock code for the Club this Sunday (18th October 2009), after racing. So, to get into the club and back out immediately after racing, please use the old number.

Members should have an email with the new code. If you don't please email via the contacts page.

Please remember that this code is FOR CLUB MEMBERS ONLY, so please do not pass it on to anyone outside the Club (including visitors) and always spin the setting wheels after using the gates, so that the code is not revealed to outsiders - thanks!

High pressure and a forecast of calm or light airs may have reduced the turnout this year but a respectable fleet of 10 boats were rewarded with some competitive racing over 3 races in light variable north westerly winds characterised by unpredictable and large shifts.

Laser Open Meeting 2009

On a day when winds at Aldenham varied between nothing, vapours and light, 22 Lasers competed in the 2009 Open Laser meeting. With two races taking place in the morning before a lunch on the lawn in warm sunshine, and then a final drift, the fleet completed on a course that had at one stage had two beats (but the variable winds soon messed up the OD's fine efforts). Inevitabley the fleet often broke in two with the first half dozen seeming to make a getaway to fight over the top three places. The meeting was won by Graham Lund (ASC), followed by Alan Bishop (Fishers Green) and Steve Fischer (ASC). Many thanks to the ASC members who ran & catered the day.

RYA Training Centre and Volvo Champion Club

Aldenham Sailing Club is a recognised RYA training centre and Volvo Champion Club. This means that we offer training to national standards and in a similar way to other centres. We also put allot of effort into developing the sailing of young people in the club.
