I really want to thank you so much for your email,i am indeed glad that i can get a good response from you.This situation is so embarrassing that i dont even have a penny to buy some food or drugs because the robbers made away with all my luggages including my credit cards too.

น้องคนหนึ่ง คุยกันบ้าง เพราะเป็นภรรยของเพื่อนร่วมมหาวิทยาลัย
ส่งเมลล์ข้างล่าง อ่านแล้วก็รู้ว่า ไม่ใช่เรื่องจริง
สรุปว่า เธอโดน hack อีเมลล์ แล้วผู้ร้ายก็ส่งอีเมลล์หาใครหลายคน
เพื่อขอร้องให้ส่งเงินให้ เนื่องจาก โดนปล้น
ในจดหมาย รวมความเห็นว่า
- กงศุลไทยก็ช่วย แต่ไม่มีเงินค่าเครื่องบิน จึงขอเงินเรา
- หาเหตุผลว่า เหตุใดไม่แจ้งครอบครัว หรือที่ทำงาน
- จึงมาขอเงินจากผู้อื่น
- ให้รีบส่งเงิน ผ่านธนาคาร ที่เป็นระบบส่งรวดเร็ว
- ไม่สามารถเข้าถึงเงินฝากของตัวเองได้

หลังอาหาร ใครคนหนึ่งอาจเอ่ยว่า

การสื่อสารนี้ อาจทำให้ชาวต่างชาติเข้าใจว่า
ใครคนนั้นพูดว่า ฉันโง่ และได้เวลากาแฟ ที่ไม่มีคนชื่อ ซูกา!!

หลังจากสอบถามจึงค่อยเข้าใจ (และแอบเบื่อคุยกับชายคนนั้น)

ความผิดพลาดนี้ ผู้พูดอาจรู้อยู่แล้ว แต่ยังคงเผลอ เพราะความคุ้นเคย
ในการออกเสียงนั้น นั่นเอง

ปัจจุบัน คนไทยกำลังสร้างความไม่เหมาะทางภาษาอีก โดยมีสื่อเป็นแรงผลักอย่างแรง
เกี่ยวกับคำว่า WHO.

ช่วง สาม-สี่ปีนี้ ภาษาพูด/เขียนข้างล่าง อาจสร้างปัญหาได้:

องค์กรอนามัยโลก มีชื่อสากลคือ World Health Organization (WHO) โดยสากลแล้ว การออกเสียงเรียกองค์กรนี้คือ องค์กรนี้มีชื่อเรียกทั่วไปว่า "ดับบลิว เอช โอ" แต่สื่อไทยบางราย ทั้งหนังสือพิมพ์ และโทรทัศน์ออกเสียง หรือเขียนว่า "ฮู" ซึ่งหากเผลอตัว ใช้เสียงผิด คำผิดนี้แล้ว อาจทำให้การสื่อสารสับสนได้ เช่น เมื่อคนไทยใช้คำไม่เหมาะนี้ในการสนทนา กับชาวต่างชาติ หรือชาวต่างชาติที่เข้าใจภาษาพูดไทย ก็อาจสื่อสารกันผิดพลาดได้ เสียเวลาสอบถามกัน และอาจเสียอารมณ์เหมือนกับ การที่คนไทยออกเสียงภาษาสากลได้ไม่ดี. ชาวสิงค์โปร์และมาเลเซียยังเคยถูกรัฐบาลของพวกเขา ขอร้อง และแนะนำให้ออกเสียงภาษาอังกฤษให้ถูก เพราะเป็นปัญหา. นี่เราชาวไทย หากไม่มีองค์กรดูแล ก็คงเป็นปัญหา ให้ถูกแอบหัวเราะในใจได้.

ราชบัณฑิตยสถาน ควรต้องเป็นผู้นำหลักในแก้ไข เพราะเป็น ภาษาที่คนไทยใช้ แม้ไม่ใช่ภาษาไทย.

เรื่องจริง แต่แปลก แหวกแนวใน US สภาผู้แทนฯ ในรัฐ Missisippi เสนอ
'ร่างกฎหมาย (bill)' โดยกำหนดให้ภัตตาคารห้ามขายอาหารให้กับคนที่ 'อ้วนมาก (obese)'! เพื่อประโยชน์โดยส่วนรวม และของทุกคน ท่านเห็นด้วยหรือไม่?

หากไม่ให้ความเห็น อย่างน้อยก็ต้องยิ้มบ้างน๊ะ

In Feb 2008, a new bill in Mississippi is to make it illlegal for restaurants to serve obese customers.

Mississippi citizens always come bottom in terms of taking exercise, and comes top as one of the fattest states. Two-thirds of the adults are overweight, and 30% obese.

Mississippi Representative W.T. Mayhall, Jr., one of those who propose the bill, apparently believes that shame and embarrassment will help people take better care of their health. A polish television station caught Donald Tusk playing soccer football with friends on the Thursday night while lawmakers voted on pension plans! He aplogized and said "it shouldn't happen, and it won't happen again."

PM = Prim
to play hooky = to be absent from school for no good reason (โดดร่ม ไม่เข้าเรียน)
pension = บำนาญ, เงินสวัสดิการเนื่องจากป่วย = am amount of money paid regularly by the government or company to someone who does not work any more, for example because they have reached the age when people stop working or because they are ill.

Button gaffe embarrasses Clinton

In March 2009, Russian media have been poking fun at the bad joke on language made by Mrs. Hillary Clinton as the US secretary of state in the meeting between the U.S. and Russia. In fact, the joke has appeared on media nation wide.

Relations between Washington and Moscow have cooled in recent years. On Friday 6th, March 2009 both sides met in Geneva to heal the rift, and Mrs. Clinton presented Foreign minister 'Sergei Lavrov' with a gift, symbolizing US hopes to mend frayed ties with Moscow. The gift was a green box tied in green ribbon.

The gift is in a green box tied in green ribbon with a Russian word "peregruzka" on it. The word is meant to be 'RESET' to mean to start a new set of relationship & policy. "Was it right?" she inquired with a smile to mean if it is the right word.

"You got it wrong," Mr. Lavrov responded, also smiling, before pointing out the mistake. He said the word the Americans chose, "peregruzka", meant "overloaded" or "overcharged", rather than "reset". So, it became an awkward start of the relation reset.

The joke of the mock "RESET" button had it all on the front page of the daily newspaper Kommersant declaring: "Sergei Lavrov and Hillary Clinton push the wrong button."

Mr. Lavrov was not taken with the state department's Russian language skill.

Despite the embarrassment, the two made light of the moment in front of the cameras and pushed the button together to signify a shared hope for better relations.

At a joint news conference after two hours of talks, both joked about the error.

Mr. Lavrov said through an interpreter: "We reached an agreement on how 'reset' is spelled in both Russian and English - we have no differences between us any more."

(2) mock surprise/horror/indignation etc. = surprise / etc that you pretend to feel, especially as a joke. ตัวอย่าง เช่น She threw her hands up in mock horror. ในเนื้อเรื่องมีคำ mock reset botton ซึ่ง mock ใช้ในความหมาย adj และเป็นความหมายที่มีนัยว่า เป็นสิ่งที่ มีการแสร้งว่าเป็นสิ่งจริง เพื่อเป็นเรื่องบันเทิง.

mock (v) = to laugh at someone or something and try to make them look stupid by saying unkind things about them or by copying
them = หัวเราะแบบเยาะเย้ย โดยมีการกล่าวซ้ำคำพูด

to be (not) taken with/by (something) = to be attracted by a particular idea, plan, or person = ไม่ (ถูก) สนใจ ต่อความคิด, แผน, หรือผู้ใด. ตัวอย่าง เช่น I'm quite taken by the idea of Christmas in Berlin. (ฉันสนใจเกี่ยวกับความคิด เรื่องคริสต์มาสที่เบอร์ลิน)

the cameras = กล้องของสื่อมวลชน (ปกติ ก็ไม่ขึ้น the ขึ้นมา แต่จะเอ่ยถึง camera ก่อน ถึงจะใช้ the camera ได้ แต่ขึ้น the camera มานี้ เพราะผู้เขียนเชื่อว่า ผู้อ่านเดาถูกแน่

เรื่องนี้ได้รับความสนใจ และกลายเป็นเรื่องดังระดับโลกทีเดียว เพราะปรากฏในสื่อทั่วโลก.

เรื่อง จริงที่ตลกนี้ สร้างรอยยิ้ม และรอยงุ้มให้กับหลายคนทั่วโลก. เรื่องเกิดขึ้นเนื่องจาก ความประสงค์ของรองประธานาธิบดี Joe Biden ที่กล่าวความประสงค์ในนามฝ่ายบริหารของ the US ว่าต้องการสร้างสัมพันธ์ที่ดีใหม่กับรัสเซีย โดยใช้คำว่า reset. พอพูดถึงคำนี้ ทำให้นึกถึงปุ่ม reset ที่มีในแทบทุกปอุปกรณ์สื่อสาร – อิเล็คโทรนิคส์. ทีมงานของท่าน Mrs. Hillary Clinton จึงปิ๊งไอเดีย ให้ของขวัญ ที่สื่อความหมาย คือให้เป็นปุ่มที่มีคำว่า reset อยู่. บวกกับแนวคิดที่ต้องการเอาใจชาวรัสเซีย จึงต้องการใช้คำ reset ใน ภาษารัศเซีย. เรื่องควรออกมาดี พร้อมรอยยิ้มทั้งสองฝ่าย.... แต่..เหตุไม่คาดฝันก็เกิด เนื่องจากทีมงานเลือกคำ "peregruzka" ซึ่งเป็นคำในภษารัสเซีย แต่ไม่ได้หมายความว่า reset แต่เป็น overloaded หรือ overcharged!!! (มีความหมายทำนอง ‘หนักเกินไป’) มารู้ตัวกันก็ตอนที่ใช้งานจริง คือ ท่าน Mrs. Clinton นำเสนอของขวัญนี้ให้กับรัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศของรัสเซียนั่นแล้ว... ขณะยื่นพร้อมรอยยิ้ม Hillary Clinton ถามไปว่า “Was it right?” ซึ่งหมายถึง “Was it the right word for reset?” Mr. Lavrov ตอบไปว่า “You got it wrong!” ซึ่งหมายถึง “ท่านใช้คำผิด” พร้อมกับยิ้ม และชี้ถึงข้อผิดพลาด. แม้เริ่มต้น มีเขิน-อาย ขายหน้า แต่การประชุมก็จบลงด้วยดี พร้อมกับโอภาปราศรัยกับคำที่ผิดพลาดนั้น และมีมุขมากล่าวในตอนท้าย.

ประโยค Button gaffe embarrasses Clinton นี้ สื่อว่า เรื่องเปิ่น เรื่องปุ่ม ทำให้ Mrs. Clinton อาย!

Obama must duck

There is another funny about the U.S.A. President while on boarding U.S. aircraft, and created some incidents for media!

WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama must get used to some of his details of his new life quick, especially the proper moment to duck while entering to an air craft.

On Monday when boarding Marine One on the White House’s south lawn, the 1.83-metre Mr Obama bumped his head on the low edge. He misjudged the doorway and banged his head on the edge of his presidential helicopter!

It was Mr Obama’s fifth flight aboard the helicopter, which ferried him to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. AP

After all, he is just like the rest of us -- Human!
