Hello my fellow internet peeps I hope all is well in your little corner of the web today. I was recently brainstorming for a new idea for a topic that I could write about for this advertising blog. When it struck me as I was doing my ahhhh research yeah that’s what I will call it today my research

I was watching the latest and greatest Youtube video to be reaching the viral boiling point when I realized that this would be a great subject to talk about when it comes to advertising on the internet and what is probably one of the most powerful forms of internet marketing today. The power of the viral video when it works can catch on and spread like wildfire when it works.

What’s great about well done viral videos like the one I saw this morning is it’s a way for small companies or huge corporations to advertise their products with little to funding if they choose. Let’s face it the cost of uploading a video to Youtube is all about the amount of money you want to spend on the production value of your video. So basic cost would be the quality of your camera and beyond that it would all fall onto the production cost if you have any that is.

I will give you an example of a viral video that is quickly reaching that viral wildfire status as it was only uploaded just a little bit less than a month ago. Who knows how may views it will be up to by the time you see it here but as of the time that I am posting it here the total views right now are standing at 1,474,850 views. Here is the viral clip and it’s called Embrace Life -- Always Wear Your Seatbelt.

This amazing viral video comes from of all places a government website in the UK that is doing it’s part to promote road safety. I think this clip is the most amazing viral clip that I have seen in a long time.

Here are some reasons why this one is taking off in a big way, they manage to connect with the viewer on an emotional level pretty much immediately. The situation that is presented is something that we can all relate to which is pretending to drive a car and is probably something we have all done at one point in our lives. I think the fact that the clip was able to relate the sense of love from your family in about 60 seconds is an amazing feat and that is what is driving this video clip to go viral.

How do I know this one is going viral in a big way because I picked it up on the CNN website as they were doing a quick story on the viral status of this video and I would have to agree wholeheartedly. The fact that a major news outlet has picked it up and made it mainstream is the dream of every person that has ever uploaded a video to Youtube in the hopes of their creation reaching a viral level of success.

Honestly we could all spend countless hours every day of the week watching ridiculous videos and telling our friends in the hope that someday we have somehow discovered the next big thing in viral videos which is what online advertising is all about. Being the next big thing on the internet is probably one of the easiest ways to burst on to the scene of success.

It’s still very much like catching lightning in a bottle though as the odds of your attempt at an online advertising campaign going viral and being a success are pretty slim. One thing the internet has done though is level the playing field really because you never know what people are going to connect with. When they do though look out because it will spread like crazy wildfire!

What Is The Best Form Of Internet Advertising

Writing articles for most people is not something that they aspire to do especially when it comes to running their online business. Unless of course your in the business of writing articles for people. Other wise most people that are running a business online have either no time or no interest in utilizing this free form of advertising that can be very lucrative if approached and done properly.

You see the idea of simply typing out your ideas has gotten the stigma of being rather difficult and that you need some sort of degree to be an effective writer. When that simply is not the case. Writing an article is putting what you would say in a normal conversation to your friend and simply typing it out. Believe me when I started doing these blogshots and you can click back in the archives and see that I started out by simply re-posting articles that other people wrote and giving them the links and credit. This worked fine but it really did not generate the kind of traffic to get excited over. After all I was simply just putting up a copy of something the search engines already found somewhere else. Then eventually I started writing a paragraph or two of my own before or after those articles. It wasn’t until I finally took that leap of putting my own words and ideas out there that blogshots started to get recognized by the search engines and bringing in some real organic traffic.

So believe it when you see all those SEO people giving you tips and advising you to write articles and blogs in your own words. Listen to them because as cliche as it might be your own original content that you post is the most powerful advertising tool you have at your disposal and best of all it’s FREE. When you think of advertising on the internet what is the first company that you think of? Most people will tell you that the first company that comes to mind for online advertising is Google. Well Google has announced over at their blog that they are going extending their reach into web. Just from the perspective of an advertiser the appeal of working with the Google platform is becoming to broad to ignore. Even though advertising numbers have been down in the last year due to the recession. The big wigs over at Google have continued to push out their brand and services with new technologies that are only going to extend their reach into the wallets of the public.
