In the post Why Advertise? you were told one reason to do so was to:

BUILD YOUR LIST

One of the quickest ways to do that is to join a J V Giveaway as a Partner and donate a ebook, piece of software, free membership to a paid membership site, etc.

A couple that are running now (October 2009) are:

Henry Gold’s P L R Lords and Sensational Giveaway.

Initially only those with large lists were invited to take part, but now everyone is invited, but they agree to promote it on the basis that it is unfair to those who do for those who don’t to get a lot of subscribers.

But there are benefits too in that the more people you recruit the higher your offering will be. If there are a lot of people donating and a lot of pages you are unlikely to get many subscribers if your gift is not on the first few pages.

To overcome this some (Sensational is among them) who invite you to upgrade and your offering is put on a Hot Page, which is shown first when someone logs in.

To find out more and join click on the links below

The main reason why you should advertise is to:

Build Your List

It is also to:

Brand Yourself

Many of the places you advertise do not get you subscribers, or even vistors to your web site. The reason you advertise in them is so that the Search Engine Spiders, when they crawl those sites you advertise in such as Craigs List, Classified Ads, etc see your web site and the fact that these sites which they have given a high place in their Search Engines are linking to you.

Everyone on the Internet, whether they have a business or not, use Google. You will have noticed that there are ads to the right of the page. These are paid for by people using Key Words that they think people are using to search for what they want to know about on Google.

But the ones on the left are there because Google thinks that they supply what people are searching for better than other sites. Everyone tries to get on the 1st page of Google without having to pay.

Many try to do so by exploiting what they see as loopholes in Google, but when Google plugs it they loose their position and get no more subscribers. It is much better do see how Google actually works and follow it.

The reason Google acts as they do is because they want to give those who search their pages a good service and if they allowed people to act contrary to this they would not be able to do so. Ask yourself how you would feel if you tried to find out about something on Google and were sent to a site that did not match what you were looking for.

Others do try and do what Google requires, but the drawback is no one really knows what that is. It is a question of trial and error, i.e you test to see what results you get after making a change to the way you do things.

But one thing that can be established is that the more links you have back to your web site or blog the higher will be the ranking Google gives you. So go out and advertise in as many places as you can find.

You were told in the previous post that recently the owner of Kiosk Hosting Services and Hot Conference had recently branched out into other internet connected services. As the owners of Hot Conference they used this to talk to those who used their services when they had problems, but as part of the new service they now, like others (see AJFLeads), are providing Training on how to run an internet business generally and how each part of their new service operates.

One of the first things we were told to do was see what was provided, which is given in a list on the left of the page and then start at the top and master each one before moving on to the next one. We were told that a video had been done by the owner Joel Therien, showing how each of them worked.

The first one is an Autoresponder, followed by Prospecting. Here we are provided with Squeeze Pages. Banners are also provided and other tools to aid you in your advertising of the site. More will be said on these and the other services in a later post.

My name is Adrienne Franklin and I would like to welcome you to my Adrienne-Franklin Blog. This is not my only one and was used initially to tie them and my other web sites together. It was and still will be used to tell you what you need to know to run your business successfully.

I am on the mailing list of a lot of internet marketers who are continually searching for ways to make things easier and or more profitable. But this does not mean that all they do is ask you to pay for things. Definitely not they, like me, are here to provide you with a service, and much of the information provided will be free.

The first thing to be established is that whatever it is that you want to interest people in you have to tell them about it which means that you need advertising. Some methods of advertising that were popular and yielded results no longer do so and have disappeared from the scene.

But some have remained such as Safelists, Traffic Exchanges, Classified Ads. You will find out about these and many more ways of advertising in my advertising blog. You will also be told how they operate, the best way to use them and equally important, what not to do.

When someone decides to become an Internet Marketer they usually look around to see who they can join and become an affiliate rather than, at least initially, produce their own products.

People are still doing this, but lately their has been a twist to this, which you will be told about in a later post. Initially affiliates sent those they had interested in purchasing the product straight to the owner of the site, but the drawback to doing this is that they are all but lost to you forever, at least as far as interesting them in other programs.

When people realised this they searched for a way to get their name and email address before sending them to the site they were an affiliate to and Squeeze/Lead Capture Pages were born.

Which brings us to another thing you need i.e. an autoresponder where the information they give is stored and from where messages are sent out to them on a regular basis.

Another thing you need is an email address, but here you really do have to be careful. The free ones such as Yahoo have a policy that they do not deliver messages from autoresponders and as you have to confirm that you want to join the mailing list of those who use them means you will not be able to do so.

At the moment GMail is the only one that does not have this policy, but that could change. The only safe way to ensure that you do receive all the emails you want is to use the email facility provided by hosting companies, which means that you have to have your own web site and:

A Hosting Company. This being the last thing you need to run a business. Some hosting companies are stand alone ones, that being all they provide, but others provide hosting among such services as autoresponders, a shopping cart, etc.

This blog is hosted by Kiosk, who, unlike many other hosting companies own their own servers, which others rent from them. Initially, this, with Hot Conference was all they owned, but lately they have branched out and are now providing much more, under the title of GVO. This blog will be concentrating on the services they provide. The next post will introduce you to them.
