Hug your legs by reaching over your shins and clasping your hands. Apply pressure by pulling down on your legs, while pushing up with your legs. You want to apply this pressure for thirty to sixty seconds. Repeat this exercise two or three more times with your legs becoming ever so slightly more apart.</p>
<p>Shin Walks &#8211; This exercise will improve balance, strengthen shin muscles and calf muscles. This will in turn help prevent injuries such as shin splints and Achilles tendonitis. Walk bare foot across a room for sixty to ninety seconds without letting your toes touch the ground. Do this slowly and don&#8217;t pound the floor. You want to do this three times with a rest period of two to three minutes in between each set.</p>
<p>Keep a golf ball or tennis ball handy &#8211; By rolling it across various parts of your body, you will break up scar tissue and increase blood flow to the areas. Roll a golf or tennis ball under your feet. This will help relieve soreness in the foot by breaking up the scar tissue that is a result of injuries such as plantar fasciitis. You can do the same under your hamstrings, over your quadriceps, and even over your lower back.</p>

<p>Or try devising a compact, high-speed routine by cutting the number of repetitions of each exercise in half, but running through them twice as quickly. You can use a weight training chart to keep track of how your time is improving, as well as how many repetitions of each kind of exercise you&#8217;re able to do in a certain amount of time.</p>
<p>The results of this kind of speedy workout might surprise you. After running through a high-intensity version of my normal strength training routine, I found more muscles sore the next day than I ever had going at the usual pace.
