Are your fitness plans even underway? You have thought of everything to be successful in your diet and your workout but you just couldn’t jump-start into it so easily. You couldn’t even do away from hitting the snooze on your alarm in the morning.

The days are underway, alright, but plans for fitness are just not moving. Perhaps you have put so much thought into it that it got so complicated for you to begin with. So, here are some tips to simplify your fitness plans and make it easier for you to get going.

It couldn’t be stressed enough that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The trick is to prepare it the night before. If you don’t eat breakfast, you wouldn’t have enough energy to fuel your workout for the day.

No sugary cereals and any instant food for breakfast. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have the vital nutrients to attack the entire day. Have some water handy at all times to make sure that you give your body all the fluid it needs.

When you’re hungry, always grab the healthy option first. Then you can return to normal with whatever you want in small portions. Refrain from sweets, though it’s usually the first thing we crave for as our blood sugar level drops when we’re hungry, because eating six times a day is the ideal way to fix it.

In making your grocery list of health foods, do not forget to bring it when you go grocery shopping and stick to it. Always have vegetables on hand for obvious reasons. Do not keep candies and chocolates because you will certainly eat it.

You may find yourself in the middle of so many supplement options. But just keep it simple! If you find it too expensive, you don’t like the smell and taste of it so you most likely wouldn’t use it, then don’t get it.

So you’ve decided to finally hit the gym. Well, pack up that gym bag ahead of time so you will be ready to literally go to the gym without any more excuses. Don’t plan for anything else around your training time so you could only focus on your fitness.

Tell everybody about your fitness plans. Tell your family, friends and relatives which gym you’re going, when, what kind of workout you got and other fitness plans you have. Hopefully, one of them would be our gym buddy and you could motivate each other to make your journey easier.

When it comes to fitness, make sure to set some goals that you can actually achieve. With everything else demanding our attention and commitment, fitness sure is tough! So if your plans are too way up there, you might want to simplify it a little so that everything in your fitness plan would fall into place and you could actually take care yourself.

Losing weight seems to be the year-round goal that everyone continues to struggle with. We all intend to burn these excess fats and improve our fitness levels. But we oftentimes find ourselves stuck in the setting out phase, setting out to burn, cinch, sweat and tone once again and again.

Many fitness trends and exercise programs actually lead us to feeling and thinking rather confused. Where do I start – my arms, my belly, my bum, my thighs? Am I doing this right?

The good news is that no matter how new these fitness trainings are, experts have still based them from the old. You don’t need to learn all the complicated poses or suspend yourself from pulleys for the sake of losing weight. Going back to the basics is your answer.

Among the top fitness trends this year are boot camp workouts, hiring experienced fitness professionals and wellness coaching. Pilates and balance training did not make the cut this time around. They’ve had their reign as we know it.

Boot camp workouts are very structured high-intensity workouts which are actually modeled after the fundamental styles of training. These include cardiovascular, endurance, strength, speed, agility and flexibility exercises. It is much like combination of drills and calisthenics for the purpose of cardiovascular conditioning, core strengthening and stretching executed in a class or group environment led by a qualified instructor.

This kind of workout is for people of all abilities, from those who have not exercised in years to those regular and experienced exercisers. You could simply just be looking to spice up your workout routine. However, if you’re unsure whether the boot camp fitness trend is right for you, check with the instructor who will surely answer your questions.

Turning to fitness experts is something that people are expected to do in order to have the best results in the fastest possible time. Thus, hiring educated and experienced fitness professionals is one of the top fitness trends. They give advice on proper exercise, they keep you motivated and they are very passionate on what they do and actually studied for.

Wellness coaching has also been a fitness trend in the recent years. It adds in the science of behavioral change into health promotion and disease prevention. This helps make up your mind in achieving your fitness and weight loss goals and replacing bad habits.

Fitness trends

If you are in doubt of getting yourself into these three fitness trends, then read on for a fun and unique way of burning fats in your living room. Big news in the world of fitness is exercise-based video games. These are traditional video games for the overweight players wherein exercises are done just by following instructions on the television.

There are many top selling fitness video games such as the console with a gesture-recognizing hand controller, PlayStation’s motion-sensitive controller and Xbox 360’s technology that dispenses with a control by using a camera to track the player’s movement. Fitness games are evolving and becoming more popular because they set the body into full play as they include cardio-boxing, press-ups, squats and lunges. At the end of the day, if you have the motivation, all these fitness trends are good exercises for you.

The holiday season has just begun. It’s the season to be jolly indeed but there’s always this one thing that we are dreading. The feasts, the treats, they just seem to keep on coming with the merriment and so is the weight.

But this is not a hopeless case for diets and weight loss. All those food can be curbed from the danger zone to the healthy side. You can have turkey and desserts but still watch your diet and keep the weight off.

Holiday turkey

Let’s begin with the turkey. You can actually have your helping of turkey and not gain the pounds on your belly or thighs at the same time. The trick is to have less stuffing, less white bread, less mashed potatoes and other side dishes loaded with carbohydrates.

More turkey means more protein. Turkey is a lean meat and is great to avoid weight gain and regain. A high protein diet such as with lean meat, poultry and beans, coupled with low starchy carbohydrates, is ideal for weight control.

Another thing is the holidays wouldn’t be complete without our endless array of desserts on the table. But did you know that you can actually serve up some health benefits in those treats as well? Now, that is sweet!

Go ahead and have a slice or two of the seasonal pecan pie, pumpkin cheesecake and gingerbread to mention a few. Pecan pies are obviously made with pecans which have the most antioxidants than any other nuts. Plus, they contain plant sterols which lower cholesterol and monounsaturated fats which are healthy for the heart.

A half cup of the canned variety of pumpkin for your pumpkin cheesecake is loaded with three times more than the recommended daily value of vitamin A. Its bright orange color indicates a high level of carotenoids. It helps boost the immune system and prevent diseases.

Gingerbread is also no reason to be thinking of your diet. Ginger has a natural anti-inflammatory characteristic which can reduce muscle pain. It is very much a potent spice that aids in digestion that’s why it’s the perfect dessert course of a big holiday meal.

So, you may be thinking, “That’s nonsense. I have always put on weight with these same foods.” Maybe that is the case but more likely not because the real culprit here is overeating with or without us knowing it. Come on, would you rather allow yourself to look deprived and hungry on the holidays?

We all seem to be instantly programmed in the season to take pleasure in the goodness of sugar and fat, bite after bite and helping after helping. It just wouldn’t be the same of a holiday without indulging into delicious gluttony. But watch your calories by simply heeding to the sign coming from your gut and stomach, a tight pressed belly, and then carry on with your exercise and fitness schedule to keep your abs, bum and thighs in shape despite all the sugars and fats you gorged and stored.

Guys, are you tired of hearing about Taylor Lautner’s abs and aching to get yours packed? And ladies, don’t you just envy Gisele Bundchen for her tight abs even at two months postnatal? One of the fitness hype nowadays is all about abs and obliques. Gone are the baby fats and forgiving love handles in one’s perception of a hot and healthy body, and achieving desirably fab abs could be as effortless as applying a slimming gel and as breathless as a tough training in the gym.

The quick fix muscular appearance and beauty secret for male models in Milan Fashion Week was Clarins Body Toning Gel. Unbelievable, right? All you have to do is apply it on your abdomen or other desired areas of your body after your morning or evening showers. This body slimming blend has a caffeine component which works as an anti-oxidant and burns fat. It also contains “ironwood” which has a firming action. In a week’s time, your muscle line will be enhanced. Yes, the operative word is “enhance” for a six pack abs does not miraculously come into sight. You must have some muscle underneath your skin. These products work to trick fitness alright, but not on its own.

Now, if you want to be rigid in developing that oh-so-sexy abs, get to know the truth about what abs workout programs are offering you. Workouts burn calories; it metabolises your body at a much faster rate. You will be sweating it out, and will be feeling and looking fit and toned. Your lifestyle will be enhanced. The positive results will give you more enthusiasm to keep up your workout regimen. But why do some people gain instead of lose pounds?

It is because as you burn the calories, you are also exhausting the body’s fluids and energy that you need for the full day ahead. You become parched and hungry! And you munch in proportion to that hunger and munch even more. So what has been shed comes right back in on a larger scale, and your vision of a flat stomach seems to bulge, literally. A holistic approach must be taken even if you just want to focus on the mid section.

Having a balanced diet is still an essential factor. Your crunches and sit-ups will be wasted to shame as you rehydrate with a flavourful cup of iced coffee with extra whipped cream or snack on cheeseburger and chips. This is not sating hunger; it’s your whirlwind affairs between exercise and junk food, fast and bleak. A balanced diet along with one’s journey to desirable abs and weight loss could not be overemphasised. Our bodies break down anything we eat, absorb and expend its nutrients, and store the rest as fat – mostly, belly fat.

Hence, a more nutritious intake means a healthy body that is not mentally and emotionally taxing to shape up, and more junk means more stored fats to deal with. With a little more research, you will find that there are lots of ways to tone that waist. Following it dutifully with a balanced diet will give the best results. We’re talking about abs here!

“Thunder thighs” is a term used on men and women who have overly huge disproportionate thighs and hips. This occurs when women age and their body’s inherent programming tells their thighs and hips to store excess fat. While this is a natural human survival instinct (read more about this here), no one likes having thunder thighs… especially not women.

The good news is, women don’t have to live with having thunder thighs any longer! By following some simple lifestyle guidelines you’ll be on your way to having thinner thighs in no time!

Stop Eating Useless Calorie

If you take a look at your thunder thighs and analyze how you got them in the first place, you shouldn’t be surprised when you find out it’s because of what you’ve been eating. With thunder thighs, what goes in sometimes doesn’t come out.

One of the best and most effective ways to losing big fat thighs is to simply ditch all those foods that provide nothing else but calories. They don’t call them junk food for nothing. Junk foods like sodas, chips, candies, cookies, doughnuts, ice cream, pizza’s are junk because most of the time, they’re filled with little to none nutritional benefit, and are loaded with MSG, preservatives, artificial coloring and calories. And if you think eating junk has nothing to do with your thunder thighs, think again.

Now when I tell you to stop eating junk food, it doesn’t mean you stop eating completely. It just means instead of filling yourself up with useless junk, you load up on another kind of food. Food that I call the anti thunder thighs whole foods. If you guessed lean meats, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and dairy… you’re right!

There is absolutely no substitute to eating right. In fact, being a fitness and training consultant, I see a lot of women turn their huge thunder thighs into thin thighs in no time just by eating right. Sometimes eating the right food is all you need to have the body of your dreams.

For some, eating the right food alone won’t guarantee losing those big thighs. You need to do a little extra work but hopefully not a lot.

Thunder Thigh Workouts

Now that you’ve been eating right, you’re sure that no junk is going into your body anymore. So it’s time to concentrate on losing those fat that is in your thighs and hips.

The fastest and most effective way to lose any kind of fat is to burn them. You burn them when your body moves. To burn thunder thigh fat faster, you simply have to move and work out those thighs and hip areas. The great thing about this is that there are tons of exercises you can do to lose fat in those area.

Jogging and running are two exercises that anyone can learn to love doing. Another is aerobics. Yoga, kick boxing, belly dancing, swimming, any movement in fact, that targets the lower body can be used to lose those unwanted thunder thighs.

You simply have to choose what you love to do then do it.

Follow these two lifestyle guidelines and you’ll be on your way to having thin thighs in no time.

**Important**

3 Thigh Exercises You Must Do!

Did you see that supermodel’s thighs? Weren’t those just the most perfectly looking sexy and toned thin thighs ever? Well good news, you can have them too!

It’s no secret that having beautiful sexy thin thighs can really increase a woman’s self-confidence and appeal so if you’re just one dying to get rid of those big flabby thighs, these thigh exercises are just for you.

Thigh Exercises That Work #1 – Squats

Nothing will get your quadriceps more pumped up that squats. These are extremely good and there are two kinds that are terrific for your thighs.

Chair Squats

The Chari Squat consists of you standing in front of a chair with your back facing the chair. All you do is slowly and in control act like you’re going to sit down, but not letting your rear touch the chair. Hold this position for a few seconds, then back up to the standing position, but not where your legs are fully erect and extended.

[flashvideo file=http://cushvideos.s3.amazonaws.com/thinthighs.mp4 image=http://www.azfitnesshealth.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/thin-thighs.gif /]

Wall Squats

Standing by a wall with your back towards the face of the wall, have your feet at shoulder width apart and your toes pointed slightly upward. Maintaining equal weight and balance on both feet, lower yourself down gently into a squat position. Make sure your heels are at all times touching the ground.

Slowly get back up to the position you first started then repeat. If you do this correctly you’ll feel your inner thighs targeted.

Thigh Exercises That Work #2 – Leg Press

Using a leg press machine, seat yourself with your back and head against the padded support. Place your feet on the foot plate about hip width apart. Make sure heels are flat and your legs are forming about a 90 deg angle at the knees. Another important tip people usually forget when doing this thigh exercise is to have the knees be in line with the feet and not varying inward or outward.

Once you’ve made sure of these, push the platform away until you feet are almost fully extended, but not fully then go back down slowly to starting position. Maintain heels flat throughout the exercise.

Thigh Exercises That Work #3 – Power Walking

Probably the easiest of the thigh exercises, power walking is great since you can do it on your way to the grocery or even from work to your home. Power walking is simply walking at a faster rate than normal, but not as fast as jogging or running.

Power walking is more about taking bigger strides while you walk. A great exercise for your cardio and entire body as well. But be sure to power walk along flat surfaces only and not inclined ones, as you might get overly developed muscles.

And if these thigh exercises aren’t enough for your thin thighs get a load of my Thigh Toning Exercises post.

3 More Surefire Thigh Toning Exercises Just For You

This is a continuation of my Exercises For Thighs series. To get surefire toned and slim thighs these thigh toning exercises are specifically geared toward making your thighs look thin like the latest and sexiest supermodels.

Surefire Thin Thigh Toning Exercises #1 – Leg Lift

Another one of those thigh exercises that is critical to getting slimmer thighs. To do the leg lift, you lie down on your left side with feet on top of each other and fully extended. Spread your left arm straight out above the area on your head. Use your other arm as support by placing in front of you.

With your body straight, lift up your right leg until it angles 30-45 deg upward. Then slowly return back to starting position. Do a set on one side then another for the other side.

Surefire Thin Thigh Toning Exercises #2 –Lunges

Another classic and effective exercise for firming your thighs and butt. Stand with your feet slightly apart then take a big step forward with one of your legs. Make sure your leg is centered on top of the ankle and you step just enough so you don’t lose balance but can feel your thighs and butt stretch.

While still on the extended position, use your heels, instead of your toes, to push off to return to the starting position. What is good about this thigh exercise is that you can even include weights.

Surefire Thin Thigh Toning Exercises #3 – Stationary Bike

Simple as this sounds, before getting on the stationary bike make sure it is properly set up. Handlebar should be just right and not low enough to cause back pains, while the seat should be adjusted so that your leg, while at the lowest point of the pedal stroke, is still slightly bent and not fully extended.

Riding the stationary bike, while regulating the resistance, 30 minutes a day for 3-4 times each week should do wonders for your thighs.

Getting nice beautiful sexy thin thighs isn’t impossible, all you need are discipline, will power and the right exercises for thighs to get you started toward the path of sexiness.

I’ve compiled a few exercises here specifically for the thighs.

Leg Extensions #1 Exercises For Thighs

This thigh exercise is a great exercise for thighs and the whole leg. While using the leg extension machine, sit back on the apparatus with you back against the padded support. Place both legs under the padded lever and grasp handles to maintain support.

To execute, simply move the padded lever forward by pushing with your legs until your legs are straight. Then slowly lower back to original position by bending knees.

Leg Curls #2 Exercises For Thighs

Another common exercise for thighs. Usually done before or after the leg extensions. The leg curls exercise also requires the use of a machine. To perform this exercise, simply lie face down on the leg curl machine. While chest flat and hands gripping the handgrips, place both legs underneath the padded lever.

Now raise the lever by curling your legs and keeping your hips glued onto the bench. At the climax, squeeze then slowly lower back down to original position. It is important to take not that with this exercise, you should always be in control and not let momentum take over.

Reverse Leg Lifts #3 Exercises For Thighs

The reverse leg lifts is another excellent exercise for the thighs. There are a lot of variation to this, but let’s just use the easiest and most common one.

Get down on all fours, then gently lift your leg with your foot pointing upwards behind you. Once your knees are in line with the rest of your body hold position for 5 seconds then slowly lower your legs and repeat with the other leg.

While all 3 of these exercises for thighs don’t seem much, if you include this into your program it is guaranteed to show you results. So try them out now!

And be sure to not overdo it. I’m sure you know how dangerous Skinny Thighs are!

The Skinny Thighs Mindset

I don’t blame women who are programmed to think that having skinny thighs are what every man is looking for in an ideal woman. All you need to do is to look up at the billboards, the TV, the print ads. Everywhere you look there’s a picture of a model with skinny thighs somewhere.

And what happens? We start thinking that the model’s body is the standard. That that is what society deems sexy.

I don’t know about you, but I prefer to not listen to what MTV tells me (so to speak). It’s just crazy to try to get stick like skinny thighs and apparently it’s not even HEALTHY too.

According to a British Medical Journal, Danish doctors have recently found out that patients with the thinnest skinniest thighs died sooner than those that have bigger thighs.

In a study of around 1,500 women from 1987 to present day, the results showed that women who had thigh measurements of less than 24 inches or 60cm were more likely to die in the 12 years.

Women who, on the other hand, had skinny thigh measurements of less than 18 inches or 46cm were TWICE more likely to have died within the same 12 years.

The reason behind this intriguing results are still not clear, but scientists and researchers believe that fat stored just underneath the skin might actually be beneficial to the body than we are led to believe.

As bigger and more comprehensive studies are underway, doesn’t this little bit of news make you feel a lot better about yourself?

Now I’m not encouraging you to stop working out those big wobbly thighs, I still believe slim and toned down thin thighs are not just sexy but overall healthier than Big Fat Thighs. All I’m saying is if you’re ultimate dream is to have skinny thighs like the girls on TV, you should think twice about it.

The Real Deal With Fat Thighs

It’s funny how times can change. It’s pretty hard to imagine it now, but there was a time when FAT was the IN thing. When being fat, having a plump body and fat thighs was associated with sex appeal and fertility. When fat meant you had money, you had wealth, power, fame and all that good stuff.

That’s all gone now. (Thankfully)

Maybe it’s because of the 80/20 rule where during the past, the rich didn’t have to work and we’re laid back and had a lot to eat (hence the fat thighs). So the fatter you were the wealthier you were perceived and the thinner you were, the more you actually had to work and earn a living to survive.

Taking a look at today, the majority of the United States is obese. Maybe not yet 80/20, but at the rate we’re going with Krispy Kremes and Mickey D’s Big Mac’s, there’s only going to be 20% of the population actually slim and sexy.

Now don’t get me wrong. If being fat, overweight, or obese simply meant just that and had no associated health risks and danger, I’d be all ok with that.

But truth of the matter is… it isn’t.

Being overweight and fat is known to cause high blood pressures, blood clots and a lot of cholesterol trouble. It is a common precursor to diabetes, heart disease, strokes, breast cancer and even Alzheimer’s disease.

And having big thighs can be a sign of this. For us women, if you read my posts on “Big Thighs And The REAL Reason Behind Them,” you know that each extra unit of fat that we consume goes straight to our thighs, hips and butts. Thus the pear shape body and fat thighs.

What this means is, our thighs and lower body is an indicator of how our diet is. If it’s normal and toned, our diet is probably good and optimal, but if our thighs for example are steadily increasing in mass, we might be eating more than we’re supposed to.

Of course there is more to this than that, like the quality of food, the calories, the amount and so forth, but checking up on your lower body and seeing if you’re beginning to have fat thighs might just be a sign of bad things to come.

**Important**
