Track update: Closure of the Pouakai circuit

Hello everyone,

Pouakai Circuit is closed until further notice. The swing bridge on the Kaiauai Track section has been washed out.

Trampers can still walk from North Egmont via Holly Hut to Pouakai Hut but must return the same way or exit via the Mangorei Track and arrange transport.

So, please be aware of that if you are heading to that area. :)

Thanks

Cheers,

Hey all....

Received this a few days ago. If you're planning trips there, be aware that you won't be able to access all of the tracks.

"Upgrade works have begun on the Constable Road End of the walkway.
The planned works includes the upgrade of the track from the Constable Road end to the Mokoroa Stream crossing including the
installation of a new bridge across the Mokoroa stream. The planned works also includes the installation of a new carpark and a small toilet facility at this road end.
