I had used the ubiquitous (so sick of that word so why am I using it?) AOL Instant Messenger at my former work place and hated it. I found that I could never get any work done with everyone asking me what I was doing. I kept it off most of the time. I am speaking of the olden days....way way back in the 90's. Now everyone is speaking about Facebook, MySpace, and of course the hot, hot, Twitter. I was curious about Twitter, so I signed up. At first I did not get it. Why do I care if Joe Smith just had a cup of coffee? Was this just one gargantuan AOL Instant Messenger party line?

I ignored it for a few days and then gave it another go. I found that I had 7 followers. Whoopee?? Why were they following me? I had no clue. It seems as if everyone wants to be followed by as many people as possible. If that is the goal, then is this some sort of a cosmic ego trip? Then it sort of dawned on me. Heck if I could find a common ground with other Twitter users (I have since learned they are called Tweeps) perhaps we could share experiences and other useful information. How to do this was my dilemma. I then found http://www.twellow.com and started adding users that I had something in common with. I am a full time stock trader and also do some Internet marketing as a hobby. I still have not gotten to the point of making friends (no one seems to want to converse) but have sure garnered some good marketing info here and there. I also have run into a few stock traders with some Market savvy.

I have only seriously been working on this project for a few days and already have over 200 followers with common interests. I am still working on the learning curve but see some marketing potential. I will follow up as my Twitter project progresses.

This is also is my very first attempt at a blog, and I am burning out.

Bob Williams

My Twitter ID is Trader_Bob
Follow me if you think we have common interests or could have a few laughs.
