Recently, we were sent some smartwater and some Powerade Zero to review. I've always been big into Powerade and Gatorade, but I'm trying to get better with drinking water. Luckily, I've taught my children better than I do, because my daughter drinks mostly water and my son gets his daily share too.

First off, I am not (and never been) a truffle person, so I gave those to the kids. They loved them! I hid the brownie for a night when I needed chocolate, and OMG, was it sooo good! The Popcorn of course, has been shared by all three of us. My favorite is the cheddar of course, and so is my kids! Right now we have very little butter popcorn and cheddar popcorn left - and tons of Caramel! I like the caramel but not as much as the cheese, and for some reason, the kids won't eat it!

Review and Giveaway: Hasbro Games

Everyone knows that Hasbro has long been a staple in many homes. We have all grown up on their games and now are kids are doing the same! Their games differ in range by type, age, and skill level - family games, toddler games, and more!

We were sent the games The Games of Things and Cirkis, one for me to play with adults and one for the kids and I to play together.

My friends and I played The Game of Things on Thanksgiving and I've played it on a few other occasions with a couple other groups of friends - this game is funny and can be kinda dirty - depending on who you're playing with!

Cirkis is so fun and the kids have each beat me on a couple of occasions! I've beat them a couple of times too! We tend to go back in forth in games like this, taking turns being the winner. Not purposely though - I haven't let the kids win a game since they were really young. You have to learn sportmanship, and boardgames are a great way to do so!

The big snow of 2009

I'm not a snow person, and I never have been. I remember being a kid and hating the snow. Especially after my parents bought us those circular sleds and we crashed or fell off regularly!

I'm a summer baby, what can I say?

It's Saturday night - 7:13 pm - and we have about 2 feet of snow. The road was plowed once this morning but not since then. I have no shovel so I'm pretty much screwed.

The big snowstorm of 2009 will have me holed up at home until it's safe to drive again.

I have a TON of winners to announce! The Holiday Hoopla ended two days ago because I wanted the winners to get their prizes before Christmas so I hope that even though I'm announcing them a couple of days late, that you will still get them for Christmas!

Review: The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music, only the world's most beloved musical, turns 50 this year. Even though my children are young, I love to share things with them, especially movies and music that I grew up with. The Sound of Music is one of those movies - and I believe it's such a great classic that everyone needs to watch it at least once!

My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi and The Sound of Music, these are songs that we all grew up with which continue to hold a special place in our hearts. The Sound of Music first opened on Broadway 50 years ago this month and quickly became one of the most popular and enduring musicals of all time. Our thoughts:

I've enjoyed The Sound of Music since I first downloaded it onto my computer, even driving my children a little crazy with it. (hehe) My favorite song on the CD is How Can Love Survive?. The book is the best! My daughter and I have really enjoyed sharing this book together. I personally LOVE pop up books and this one is done so exquisitely! The detail on the book is amazing! The CD and book are both new favorites and I'm sure they will be ones that we turn to to get a pick me up!

Review: Green Works Laundry Detergent and Stain Remover

I've never tried Green Works Laundry Detergent or Stain Remover, even though I always meant to, but Mom Central gave me the opportunity recently, for a blog tour.

What's funny is that my daughter constantly gets something on her clothes and stains them up. The whole time I was trying to try out the Stain Remover that I was sent? Of course not! (Doesn't it always work that way?!)

I did try out the laundry detergent, and I loved the smell and how fresh my clothes were when they finally came out. I was able to try it out on my clothes (which I always wash in cold water), as well as my children's clothes, some of which had mud from our rather wet weather we've had recently. Everything was clean and smelled great!

I must admit that I was a little worried how my clothes would come out - I mean I've heard of Green Works and I know that Clorox is a trusted brand, but I'm very particular with my clothes, and you just never know... So I'm glad that Green Works worked well and I'll be sure to report back when I get to use the stain remover and tell you how well it worked!
