The first change was the 80 x 15 icons which have now been replaced with shiny Web 2.0 icons. Check them out, follow the links, and friend me up!

The second change is the layout itself. I've shifted from a two column to a three column layout which can be seen here. This change was something I've wanted to do for a few years but not had the motivation to work on. It required a reworking of the CSS and images behind the site.

That is all for now, but with the proliferation of the iPhone and other web enabled mobile devices it's time I finally come up with a mobile site. That is something I'm looking at for early next year.

About a month and a half ago I won a contest @Amtrekker was having on Twitter. He had received a copy of Lisa Unger's Beautiful Lies novel from @DaisyWhitney and wanted to pass it on.

I finished the book this week and thought it was only right that we have another Twitter contest to give the book to someone else.

We agreed upon the following; come up with your best 5 word lie and email it to Lies at Amtrekker.com. 

The three of use sent out tweets about it. @Amtrekker's, @DaisyWhitney's, and mine @GP2980. Daisy also posted an entry on her blog, The Book Chick, with comments being accepted for the contest.

The winner should be selected this weekend and the book mailed out next week.

This past Thursday, April 2nd, I was at the New Jersey Nets "Meet the Team Event" at the IZOD Center. It's an event for season ticket holders where you get to meet the players, get autographs, and eat hors d'oeuvres before listening to words from the Nets organization. This year saw the addition of the Kiki Awards, named after Kiki Vandeweghe, General Manager of the Nets. The awards were voted on by season ticket holders and included best smile and fan favorite. Not the most exciting awards show, but still entertaining.

I just installed the Zemanta extension for Firefox and this is my first post utilizing it. Zemanta integrates with both blogging and email services and currently pulls in data from 15 external sources. It will automatically suggest tags, links, photos, and related articles.

I'm testing it with Movable Type and the interface is pretty slick. The suggestions happen automagically and then give you control over the content that is displayed in the blog post. So far the only thing I do not like is that links do not open in a new window and there is no way to do this without modifying the HTML.

Some were edited using Picnik and all were resized from the originals.

I tested three different programs for batch resizing. Microsoft's XP Powertoy, PictureTray, and Photo Resize.

Microsoft's tool was quick and efficient, but had JPEG compression enabled by default with no option to disable it. Picture Tray was easy to use, but did not copy the EXIF data. Photo Resize was also easy to use, offered the most options, and copied EXIF data.

Health & Fitness seem to top everyone's list of New Year's resolutions, but many individuals don't last beyond the first few weeks, if that long.

Mens Health has a great site which lists the best and worst foods in America. The site is a great reference for anything from what to eat when your stressed to the 125 healthiest supermarket foods. How to lose weight eating restaurant food is also an interesting read.

Woman's Health has a game called "Eat This Not That" where you must choose the healthier food. There are six categories to choose from with a different game for each.

With all the resources available on the web, including over 800k pages of how to keep your New Year's resolutions, it is easier then ever for everyone to maintain there goals.
