While I agree with the comparison of the KKK to violent Islamic extremists, I don't agree with the idea that Islamic extremism equates to following 7th century Islamic law. Muslims are supposed to pray and men should wear beards (whether they should be forced to do so is the real question).

These 7th century Islamic laws are what Islam is made up of. Perhaps a better explanation would have been the interpretation of some groups of these laws.

But one of the basic fundamentals of Islam is our belief in One God only. That is one of those 7th century laws that do not equal Islamic extremism.
