I have about two gigs of miscellaneous photos of New York City that I need to sort through from the past month. So far, this is the only one I’ve gotten around to prepping.

I now return to piles of laundry that require sorting and Harry Potter.

Sunday Smut : Still Smutty, Even on a Monday

I am been terribly negligent of this blog the last month. Sometime, in the not so distant future, I will post an update filling everyone in on what’s going on, but for now, I give you a hearty dose of Smut!

Charm : Ghostly

Ghostly was the third time I’ve had the chance to work with Charm. She always gives me the reign to shoot her completely raw and unhinged, and I feel that she really brings a lot of emotional impact to all of her modeling. A lot of comments were left regarding her recent weight loss, and I’d like everyone to read the journal entry she put up on Suicide Girls in response to it.

Adalae : Sunny Side

On one of my final days in Los Angeles (more on that another time), Adalae, Otter, and I took over Milloux’ house for a few hours and shot Sunny Side and Cheap Monday. Adalae and I decided to use the window in the dining room area as our only source of light, so that it was all a soft, warm glow. It did create a few pesky shadows in some shots, but I feel like it showed off her sweet side.

Otter : Cheap Monday

Otter and I went for something completely stark for Cheap Monday. No makeup, no props or themes, just Otter. I really love and appreciate when a model can pull something as simple as this off, because when she is the only focal point, it’s easy to be intimidated. Otter was able to fill each frame with an enormous energy, not an easy thing to do.

LeEvil : Windswept

Le & I shot Windswept on, as you probably have assumed by now, an INCREDIBLY windy day in Oakland this past summer when I went to visit Nixon. Windswept is currently published on Zivity, and it would be ever so kind of you to cast your votes on it!

Sunday Smut : Heaven in Black

Zoetica and I have been planning this shoot for many moons now, and the planets have finally aligned for us to execute it.

In the Indian summer of a Los Angeles heat wave, we stepped into Jeremy Kasten’s anachronistic home armed with lingerie, hairspray, and Zoe’s custom made whip shoes.

Tuesday Tales

I have no pretty pictures to show you today.

Today, instead, consisted of a trip to the UPS store, where there was a toilet seat sitting on the counter. This somehow involved a husband, whom was trying to sell his wife. She suffered from MS, and he hurried off to bring her to a neurologist appointment, leaving his toilet seat behind. I missed this interaction, but arrived just in time to hear the tail end of the story, as it was told by the clerk to the woman waiting in line ahead of me. No one in the store was really sure what the future held for the abandoned toilet seat, or if the man would have any luck in his sales pitch.

Later in the afternoon, I took a trip out to Westwood, to sell a stripper pole to a very charming girl I met on Twitter yesterday. This resulted in not only a more candid conversation than I think I may have ever had with a complete stranger, but also seeing a girl with dark hair walk past on the sidewalk. After a moment of mutual inspection, Passerby and I realized that once upon a time, we were very close friends that had fallen out of touch in years past. The last I had heard of Passerby, she was cracking coconuts, either with her mind or with her bare hands. I’m not sure which. There were no coconuts involved with today’s interaction, although they have been a running theme of recent events.

After making my pole exchange, and realizing that my mantra seems to be “Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time”, I got back in my car and slowly found my way back to my place of residence. En route, I drove past a decapitated and flattened road kill baby doll, and got stuck behind a very large pick-up truck with a vanity plate reading “BGNSEXY”. The driver of the monster beast was neither sexy, and, I am assuming, the big that he imagined he was. Catching a glimpse of him in his side mirror immediately brought back repressed memories of a man in a red SVU driving alongside the tour van of 2005, furiously masturbating, somewhere in the South.

I still shudder at the sight of red SUVs.

Sunday Smut : Fiery Eyes

How very appropriate that this week’s Sunday Smut should have such a title.

Here is Opaque, in Fiery Eyes, and YES : More from Vegas, and from the days prior to having a full frame sensor. The poor girl had literally just walked in the door from the airport, and I grabbed her and pulled her into the bedroom saying “I am shooting you, now” rather forcibly.

At the Foot of the Restricted Zone

Los Angeles is burning.

Again.

It’s rather close this time around, and I spend one day driving around to no avail trying to find a decent vantage point. Finally, later that night, I found one from the top of Taget, and sadly, I didn’t have a camera on hand. The hills looked like volcanos in the not so far off distance. The following day, I tracked down my friend Darren, whom is as ready to spring forward into potentially terrible decisions as I, and we went straight to the source.

At one point, we managed to get up the mountain top and look straight into the heart of it. Before I could even put the car in park, we were ushered away by the fire fighters. It was, in the literal sense of the word, awesome. Not to marginalize it by chalking it up to a pop culture reference, but it was like looking into Modor, or one of the circles of hell of dear ol’ Dante.

What have I learned from this experience? Well, for one, follow the smoke, sirens, and news vans for the best views. Two, smile real big at the police at road stops, and they’ll let you walk on by.

September Stacks

These shall be my friends over the coming weeks, in no particular order :

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World : I’m about half-way through this at the moment, and really quite enjoying it. Someone had loaned me The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle one summer past, and when the author’s name came up in conversation not long ago, I remembered how good it was. Japanese novels seem to always lose a bit in translation, but you can still catch the original feel to Murakami.

The Inferno, The Waste Land, The Metamorphosis & Other Stories : I’ve had many copies of these over the years, and all seem to wander off at some point or another. It’s time to become reacquainted. Obviously, I’m a fan of Dante, as you can tell by the sides of my hands.

Kafka on the Shore : Another Murakami, and there’s still another that I left in my mother’s car in NY last week. I like finding authors that I can devour.

Roald Dahl : Collected Stories : This was a gift from the same person that originally had me read The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, and many others that have been added to my favorites list. My friends have fantastic taste in literature.

1491 : New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus : I am a horrible person for still having this on my reading list. I borrowed it from Nixon almost a year ago, and for some reason, it keeps getting shuffled to the bottom of every stack of books I accumulate. I am not buying another book until this one is complete.

Only Revolutions : I bought this as soon as I finished House of Leaves, read the first page, then had to go online to find instructions on how to read it. It works backwards, simultaneous, and in code, from two people that are perpetually sixteen and are marked by dates. I may have to take on a yoga class or heavy meditation before I can conquer it.
