I don’t know about you, but a lot of the time, this apparent upside-down, inside-out teaching about life, causes head-scratching, jaw-dropping responses in me.
How about you?
Jesus seems to interrupt my routine and calls me to a new way which is invariably challenging! So beware! We speak from experience!
Please consider these, for example:
1. To live I must die? Mark 8:35
2. To gain I must give? Matthew 19:21
3. To be blessed I must mourn? Matthew 5:4
4. To learn to rule, I must learn to serve? Luke 22:26
5. Suffering has purpose? Luke 5:10 – 11
Well, I’m guessing we are the upside-down, inside-out people, not Him!
Like children we seem to think that we know better than our Heavenly Father. Wrong!
What seems the wrong way to me is the right side up to God. Got that?
So let’s try this again –
His ways are not my ways, His thoughts are not my thoughts so please show me your ways and thoughts, Lord.

We are up to April already and another Boots Wedding is around the corner & in Phuket this time! Ezra and Jo get married on Friday, 26th April, 2013. Exciting times for the Boots/Doery Clan. From Phuket we travel back to Malaysia for our next tour of duty from 27 April to 11 July, 2013.

We will be with Rivers of Water Church in Bukit Mertajam, Penang from 27 April until 27 May. We have been working with them all this year and are a part of their Staff Meetings on Saturday morning through Skype. The wonders of modern technology! For those of you who are wondering, these meetings work very well despite the fact that we are in Perth and they are in Bukit Mertajam! It really does work well. Long distance mentoring is possible and effective. We also communicate by telephone and of course, emails.
A heavy schedule has been set up for us for the time we will be with them, teaching on leadership, training leaders, preaching, counselling and the list goes on. There are three congregations we will be working with: English speaking, Tamil and Chinese. We are looking forward to being with all of them soon again.

Then from 27 May until 11 July, we will be working with Ps Henry Liew and the rest of Foursquare Malaysia. We will based in Ipoh and living out of The Liew Residence again. For this, we are truly thankful and grateful. We are sure to find lots to do, teaching and preaching! We will be teaching the Book of Nehemiah at Shekinah Community Church in the month of June.

A dear friend and fellow Pastor from 5ONE4, Alda Bywaters, will be visiting us in Ipoh from 27 May to 8 June. We are looking forward to her visit. In this Mission trip, Alda will get a hands on experience of what it is we have been doing for nearly seven years!
We started what God called to do in South East Asia on 16 August, 2006 and will continue for as long as we are able with God’s help.

While in Perth earlier this year, we had the privilege of working with Graham and Sue Smith on Saturday, 16th March, 2013. We spoke at two meetings, the morning in Busselton and the afternoon in Bunbury. It was an exciting and a fulfilling day. Thank Graham and Sue for this opportunity, we really appreciated it.

Then we spent the following weekend in Katanning, 23rd and 24th March, 2013.
We spent the Saturday evening with the Council Members of Katanning Foursquare Church. We shared about our time in Sri Lanka with them. It was a special time.
Then on the Sunday morning, we preached at the Church and saw God do some awesome things.

It was special, as we had Ps Sam Hari from Rivers of Water Church, Bukit Mertajam, staying with us and he was able to give them some real insight into what it is we do in South East Asia. Having a real live person, talking about our tours of duty is a very effective way of understanding our Ministry. Both 5ONE4 (our Home Church) and Katanning Foursquare Church got this very rare opportunity and we are grateful.

As we sojourn together on this path leading to citizenship in eternity -
Let us learn to stand strong and still, and expect God to lead us in every way.
“Be it known…that we will not…” Daniel 3:18

In a real test of character, did you know, the outcome is not in our hands?
We choose to do what is right before God and then we leave the consequences up to Him even in the fire of refinement. Choose you this day…!
To enter a new level of freedom, we need to choose to walk, rather than try to escape the path God has called us to.

Three things happen when we do this:
1. We are set free from the ‘Nebuchadnezzar’s’ who claim to have control over the outcome of our lives
2. We are set free to just say ‘No’ to people who would try to use us
3. We are set free to serve our all-powerful Lord!

Time to gain insight into “WHOSE I AM”!

God will either develop us in the fiery furnace or deliver us from the fiery furnace or maybe even both?

Neither logic, nor emotion, nor circumstances can separate us from our conviction in God.

So, get ready for the flames, and
Be increased in our capacity to grow and to cope.

In closing please always remember that love never gives up!

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance!” 1 Corinthians 13:7

After all:
His love never fails!
It never gives up!
It never runs out on us!

Prayer Points:
1. For good health and safety wherever our feet trod. That our children and grandchildren will have good health and provision.
2. For divine favour and clear thinking in all we do and teach.
3. For Alda Bywaters as she prepares to travel alone to Malaysia to be with us.
4. For 5ONE4, that God will continue the awesome work He is doing in 2013.
5. For Rivers of Water, that we will continue being affective Mentor Pastors to them.
6. For Ps Sam Hari as he continues this journey in a time of furlough that he will return on 1 July to his Church with renewed and refreshed insight to lead the Church more effectively.
7. For Foursquare Malaysia as they travel this road of Church Planting ahead of them.
8. For the ability to speak words of life to all that we meet.

So we can say together:
To God be the glory great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His son.
And for this, we can be truly grateful to Him.

Hi everyone,

Well, 2013 has taken off and is running ahead at a great speed of knots. Are you having as much trouble keeping up with the days as they fly by? Maybe it has something to do with the years flying by and the doctor saying – “the wear and tear comes with the aging process!” Oh dear!

We are home in Perth, enjoying some peace and quiet and loving our times with our three grandchildren, Amelia, Linus and Rylee. They are a great joy to the both of us.

On 1st January, 2013, our second born son, Ira, left Perth to live in Melbourne. Ira is a High School Teacher and a Sports Scientist and we believe that he is going in to a new and exciting phase of life, walking into his destiny with the Lord.

We now have two sons in Melbourne, connected with Bridge Church, an Australian Christian Church (formerly Richmond Temple) in Richmond.

On 26th April, 2013, our fourth son, Ezra (Childrens’ Pastor at Bridge Church), will be marrying Jo Doery (daughter of Senior Pastors, David & Sally Doery, of Bridge Church), in Phuket, Thailand. Our family is looking forward to a special time together then.

Aaron, Alison, Amelia & Linus together with Micah, Bec and Ryle continue to
lead 5ONE4 into a new and exciting season in the Lord. 2013 promises to be a year of great promise and great achievement for these two young pastors.
An historical moment was celebrated on 13th January, 2013 at 5ONE4, when we had seven Foursquare Pastors’ sons all under the one roof at the 10am Church Service! What an awesome experience that was!

We have purposely taken some time off in the beginning of this year to rest, sort out some health issues and regroup for an exciting time ahead. As you know, our tour of duty to Sri Lanka was very special and is having an impact on us that will be with us for the rest of our lives.

New ventures:
From the 7th January to 30th June, 2013, we have been asked to be ‘Mentor Pastors’ to Rivers of Waters Church (a Malaysian Foursquare Church), in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, while their Senior Pastor is on furlough. At the moment we are doing most of our mentoring, counselling and support via Skype, both with the Church staff and also with the Senior Pastor and his wife. We are finding this to be working quite well for this time and more time consuming than expected, but worth it! We will be them in person from 27th April to the end of May, 2013.
After that we plan to be with Foursquare Malaysia for all of June until 11th July, 2013, God willing.

Family tradition:
On Monday, 4th February, 2013, all the Boots family in Perth, were in attendance at our home for a Super Bowl Celebration that has become a tradition! American chilli dogs, hot popcorn, lollies and plenty more were on offer and a good time was had by all! And most importantly, the Raven’s won!!!

From 26th February to 8th March, 2013 – our special House Guests will be Pastors Henry and Jenny Liew, National Leaders of Foursquare Malaysia. They will be preaching at 5ONE4 on Sunday, 5th March, 2013. Please come and join us if you can. Contact Angie on 0429087776 or arboots@gmail.com for details please. We are hoping that they will have a good restful and refreshing holiday before they go back into the busy time ahead! We are looking forward to having them in our home for a change. Their home in Ipoh has become our home in the last two years and for that we are very grateful, thankful and comfortable. Ps Henry celebrated a milestone 60th birthday on 6th February, 2013 and we wish him well in the years ahead.
