GSD File Format for Digital Craft Cutters

I have been receiving a lot of questions about my GSD Template Files so I thought I would post some additional information here for ya.

The GSD file format is a type of craft cutter file that is commonly used in digital craft cutters like Quickutz Silhouette, Xyron Wishblade and Graphtec Craft Robo. There are also other craft cutting machines that are compatible with GSD files, but be sure to verify this first.

Below are links to two common GSD “friendly” craft cutter machines if you would like more information.

Occasionally I am asked if GSD files will work with a Pazzles Inspiration Craft Cutter. The quick answer is no. This machine uses a WPC craft cutter file type instead of GSD. There are many people who convert GSD files into the WPC file format for use in Pazzles cutting machines, but I don’t have any direct experience with this to offer you.

If you have a GSD compatible craft cutter machine, then you will love my GSD templates. You simply load up the GSD template file in your craft cutter software, select your cardstock and let the machine make the perfect cut!

Hearts and Candy for Valentine’s Day

It’s a new year and that must mean that Valentine’s Day is coming soon. Time for me to use one of my favorite templates for the loved ones on my list. It’s a cute little heart shaped gift box. It can be filled with small candies or even a set of heart shaped gift cards.

Once you have the template cut, it is easy to assemble and has a great little heart latch in the front to keep it closed.

Simply Beautiful Flat Storage Gift Box

They say there is beauty in simplicity and I think this gift box is a perfect example. It is modern and upscale looking, yet still provides a creative touch that is sure to be noticed. How lovely is this gift box for the holidays! I was hoping to get this template out a couple of weeks ago, but I guess better late than never. Ice Skate Gift Box

I have a friend who is a figure skater and I wanted to create a special holiday gift box for her this year so I designed this sweet little skate gift box. The box is self supporting and stands up on it’s own and, although you can’t see it in this photo, there is an opening at the top of the skate which would be perfect for holding candy canes, hot chocolate packets, or even a bag full of chocolates.

I made my skate out of Real Red cardstock (template takes 2 sheets). To jazz it up, I added fuzzy white brads, white ribbon, and thin feathering as a cuff. I made the sole of the boot using a straight edge and a black Sharpie marker. The blade was made out of shiny silver cardstock.

And, I just couldn’t let the opportunity pass to make a masculin skate. As you can see, I put a couple of treats inside of the box so you can get an idea of the size.

Each skate took roughly 15-20 minutes to assemble and decorate after the pieces were cut out. It’s not a difficult project at all but, because the pieces are exact in measurement, it does require you to be careful and accurate when adhering the pieces together. Hello bloggers,

I just wanted to pop on quickly to let you know that I am still here - I haven’t abandoned my blog. My six year old daughter is home with pneumonia so I have been playing nurse for the past week. I am working on some new designs and hope to have them uploaded by the end of the week. In the meantime, please check out the freebie section. There are some cute files there for you to download.
