If there’s one thing the Bible tells us, it’s to fear not and to be of good courage (Joshua 1:6). For the Bible records that God has not given us a spirit of fear but power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If these things are true, which they are, why do we see such a huge fear pandemic within the Body of Christ?

One thing I have learned over the past several years as God is growing and stretching me is that fear, if not overcome by faith, has the propensity to paralyze and rob you of your destiny and purpose.

As I write, I think of all the great things God has told me to do and how instantly I begin to get the ‘me-itis’. It instantly became about me. Me me me! My short comings, insufficiencies, lack of knowledge, and etc. I begin to think of all the reasons I CAN’T do as God called me to do instead of reminding myself that I can do ALL THINGS thru Christ that strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

Over the past several weeks, I find myself being reminded that when God gives you instructions, many times it will seem impossible and even illogical. It may even have you questioning if you heard from God correctly.

I don’t have all the answers as I am learning myself how to walk by faith and not by sight. However, I want to take the opportunity to help somebody- including myself. Whatever God called you to do, DO IT! The purpose on your life supersedes you and will bless many! As I heard a Pastor say this weekend, if you’re waiting for the perfect set up in your life to take place first before doing the will of God, you’ll be waiting forever.

You were not created to sit down on your gifts, talents and purpose. God is calling some of you to come up higher. It scares you because doing so requires you to step out of your comfort zone. It requires a leap of faith and believe it or not, that’s just where God wants you! He wants you totally dependent on Him to where you are seeking His face for the next move and instruction. God has called for us to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Can you see why? Because that is the only way to truly please the Lord.

It’s time for you to step out of your comfort zone and to do the will of God concerning your life. There’s not enough sex, drugs, degrees, parties, shopping or etc that can fill that void you feel. In all actuality, once you take a step of faith and do the will of God, you will find that you have so much fulfillment doing so. Why? Because you are finally operating in your purpose.

Let’s encourage one another to continue this race because at times it can get hard. However, there is a prize that awaits those that endure. At the end, my ultimate desire is to hear from Jesus, “Well Done! Thy Good and Faith Servant”. That statement alone hints that there is going to be a few challenging bumps along the way, however because of your faithful to whatever God told you to do, you have pleased God!

Let’s overcome fear with faith knowing that God will meet us where we are and provide the next piece of instruction— but you must first step out on faith. May this encourage you and bless you in Jesus name; Amen!

If there’s one thing that needs a constant check up, it’s the heart. Jeremiah 17:9 describes the heart as being deceitful and desperately wicked. Perhaps this explains why David cried out, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). There’s so much the Bible cautions and says about the heart, however, I would like to briefly talk about the heart in relation to ones prayer life.

Hindrances to Prayer: The Heart

Let’s look at this Biblically in James 4:1-3 for insight:

What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

James 4:1-3 reveals the importance of praying with right motives. Motives are clear indicators of what’s in the heart. Although scripture tells us that if we pray and have faith we’ll receive what we’ve prayed for (Matthew 21:22), James 4:1-3 shows us there’s a prerequisite to praying and receiving – your motives must be pure. It’s a matter of the heart. It’s important to assess why you’re asking God what you’re asking Him for. Are you seeking self-pleasure or the will of the Father? Don’t allow flesh, self-centeredness or an unclean heart to become hindrances to your prayer life.

Prayer

God I pray that you cleanse the heart of the brother or sister reading this. Father, I ask that you would remove every unclean spirit and ungodliness lurking around in their heart. Just like David, I pray God that you would create within them a clean heart and renew within them a right spirit Oh God! Lead them by your Holy Spirit to pray prayers that stem from pure godly motives in Jesus name!

Lord I thank you for the blood of Jesus that cleanses away all our debts and sins! I thank you for the Blood of Jesus that cleanses away the filth in our hearts! We receive you’re cleansing oh Lord! Help us Lord to pray your will and not our own will in Jesus name!

May this word strengthen, edify and encourage you in your walk with God in Jesus name! God bless you!

Ever looked at your life and wondered if God was there? Ever felt like giving up because obeying God seemed harder than you thought? You are not alone! I’ve experienced the same. There is encouragement for you today. Know that God is faithful!

Bible verse: “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).

Never did I imagine the past 3 years of my life being a faith walk (literally). Let me paint the picture: In 2007, I graduate High School and my mother purchases her first townhome in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Early 2008, God leads my family and I to do an extensive study on ‘Faith’ followed by a 45 day consecration. August of that year, God instructs my mother to resign from corporate America. 2009, God begins revealing His purpose for my life – which I had a hard time receiving (initially). March of 2010, our house and car is foreclosed, we’re left homeless and by July 2010, we relocated to Atlanta, GA per the instruction of the Lord.

During this time, we’ve lived hotel to hotel; house to house staying with family and friends. We’ve been ridiculed, persecuted, talked about, mocked, lied on and the likes – yes, even by church folk. I guess they didn’t understand what God was doing in our lives; but then again, we didn’t understand what God was doing in our lives. This turning point in my life prompted me to write, “Trusting God When You Don’t Understand”. We didn’t understand much of what God was doing nor allowing in our lives, we just knew we had a word, an illogical instruction from the Lord followed by several confirmations.

Though life as we knew it would never be the same, God was faithful with provision. We’ve never missed a meal, never had to sleep on the curb, and although it was often discussed, we’ve never had to split and go into a shelter.

I had bumps along the way and faced moments of fear, tears and weariness. Even moments of despair, depression and even doubt while at my lowest. But even then, God was faithful to do just what He said He would do.

I don’t share this snippet of my life to discourage you, but to encourage and empower you! Whatever it is you are facing, know that God is faithful! You may not understand all that is happening in your life and why God, being the sovereign God that He is, didn’t stop a particular situation from happening – but through the ups and downs learn to trust Him!

The word of God says, “The LORD directs the steps of the godly” (Psalm 37:23). Sometimes God directs our paths to grounds that will literally shake our world, but know that those same grounds will help prepare you for your destiny and purpose.

If there’s one thing that has helped me during this process, that would be prayer and calling out things as thou they were (faith). I know this is easily said than done – especially when prayer doesn’t appear to work at times, but pray! I’ve witness the hand of God move as a result of prayer. Confess those things God has promised you and hold fast to the profession of your faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised (Hebrews 10:23).

Be encouraged and know that if God called you to it, He WILL get you THROUGH IT! My life is literally a testimony of this. God is faithful and will not abandon that which He loves –YOU!

I am the Lord, your Holy One,
Israel’s Creator and King.
I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters,
making a dry path through the sea.
I called forth the mighty army of Egypt
with all its chariots and horses.
I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned,
their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick.

But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

- Isaiah 43:15-19

How many times have you looked to your left and right crying out to God because both ways appeared to be a dead end? I come to tell you that you serve a God who is able to make a way out of no way!

Background Information

The scripture above makes reference to Moses, the children of Israel and the parting of the red sea. According to scripture, as Pharaoh and his army encamped the children of Israel at the red sea, the children of Israel begin to cry unto the Lord and said to Moses:

“Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt? Is not this what we said to you in Egypt: ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”

Following this, Moses, as instructed by the Lord, stretched out his hands over the red sea. In obedience, the water was divided and the children of Israel went into the sea on dry ground with the waters being a wall to them on their left and right hand.

Long story short, they were able to cross the red sea while Pharaohs chariots and horsemen perished in it. As a result, Israel saw the great power of the Lord.

God WILL Make a Way

As we look at Isaiah 43:15-19, we see God mentioning how He opened a way through the red sea for the children of Israel. Though we get excited about the parting of the red sea…I encourage you to look at it from the children of Israel prospective.

Here you are at this sea. You look ahead; all you see is a body of water. You look behind; all you see is Pharaoh and his chariot coming after you. You cry out to God as it appears as if He’s brought you here to die. Your back is against the wall and you have nowhere to go.

For some of you, this passage explains your situation. However, I encourage you today! God has not brought you this far just to leave you stranded. He hasn’t brought you here just to abandon you. God will make a way out of no way!

It wasn’t until Moses moved forward and used what he had (a staff) until God added his super to Moses natural and parted the sea. I encourage you to use what God has given you and watch God add His super to your natural. What has God given you? His word that shall never fail; your mouth that shall declare the word of the Lord over your life; promises; visions; and a faith that shall move mountains!

So I say to you as God said to Moses, “why do you cry? Move forward”. Move forward in your walk with God…move forward in your faith!

What God has in store for you doesn’t even compare to what we read God doing for the children of Israel here in Exodus 15. For God says, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Jesus, A Waymaker: Finial Words

God will do a new thing in your life NOW! Not next week, next month or next year…NOW! Now God will do a new thing! The Lord will make a way in hard times, in the wilderness and in what appears to be thee impossible!

Be encouraged and trust God! If God brought you to it, then He’ll bring you through it just as He did with the children of Israel! He hasn’t brought you this far just to leave you. God will make a way out of no way NOW! Do you not see it? Has it not already begun?

Be blessed and encouraged in Jesus name; Amen!

How many times have you taken it upon yourself to get things done when you knew God was telling you to stand still and/or wait on something?

I’ll be the first to raise my hand in saying I’ve done so. Right now in my life, I’m in this place where every week my family and I are faced with the challenges of paying hotel rent. I’m in the process of looking for employment…but I’ve tried to take matters into my own hands, thinking that I’ll “help God” because I can’t figure out what He’s doing.

Today, the very thing I placed my trust in to make some extra money was cancelled out. My first reaction was to panic and get upset. But you know what, after I prayed I am reminded that my help does not comes from what I, Naquan can do, but from what God can do (and we know that God can do all things).

Why do I share this with you? Because I know I’m not the only person who’s been tempted to step outside of faith and take matters into their own hands. Now, I’m not saying that you’re not to do anything to make a living…however, in the situation that God has ME in, it’s a faith walk and sometimes the faith walk is not the most easiest walk.

Your Help Cometh From the Lord

So I share my story to encourage someone today. Your help does not come from what you have or don’t have nor what you know or don’t know. Your help comes from the Lord, the Lord which made Heaven and earth (scripture verse: Psalm 121:2). God said in His word that He will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory and we know we serve a God who cannot lie.

It is by the grace and merciful hand of God that my family and I had the funds to pay rent each week with NO INCOME. Even if I wanted to, I could not take the credit for it because the little money I did make was no way near the money needed each week to pay the hotel fees. So I know it’s only God who has been sustaining my family and I.

So as I encourage myself, I encourage you. You may not know where the next dollar, meal, drink, or etc is coming from. You may want to panic and give up. You may be tempted to take matters into your own hands. However, I encourage you to stand on the word of God and His promises because your help comes from the Lord!

If God can send ravens to feed Elijah, then surely God can use anything to be a blessing to you. Remember, your help comes from the Lord (bible verse: Psalm 121:2). Obey God and leave the when, how and where to Him. Your Heavenly father is a present help in times of trouble and He will not leave you hanging.

Be encouraged in Jesus name; Amen!

P.S. If you’re a daily reader of 2PraiseGod, you know I typically don’t share personal information, but I had to get this off my chest. At the end of the day, God will be glorified!

If you’re like most people, praising God is the last thing you think to do when faced with challenges. It’s easier to bicker and complain than to praise God. However, I encourage you not to exalt the bad in your life, but to instead praise God who’s able to change that situation around.

Philippians 4:4 states, “rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Sometimes you have to push all the mess aside – all the hurt, pain and challenges of life and reflect on the goodness of Jesus Christ.

Think about what He’s done for you. Surely God is worthy to be praised. However, with the devil magnifying every bad and difficult thing in your life, you oftentimes must PUSH your way into a praise – even when your flesh is unwilling to lift one up.

Praising God – The How To

You want to know the “secret” behind getting through obstacles – pressing your way through with a praise offering. Praising God is not difficult to do. It’s simply giving reverence to God Almighty for all He’s done. This can be done in the form of a dance, song/psalm, musical instrument, hand clap, hum or simply telling God how good and wonderful He is.

I’ll be honest, I’m not one to scream and shout (not that there’s anything wrong with it, it’s just not my style of praise unto the Lord) but I enjoy praising God by simply talking to God and telling Him thank you.

“Thank you God for your protection. I praise you God for loving me past my mess, sinful habits and rebellious ways. I thank you God for clothes, shelter, food and water. Thank you for keeping and never neglecting me. I praise your Holy Name God.”

See how simple that was? Of course I have much more to praise God for, but this is just an illustration of how praising God is not limited to just one particular way. Just praise God for what He’s done – in your own way.

Praising God through Difficult Times

“I will comfort those who mourn, bringing words of praise to their lips. May they have abundant peace, both near and far,” says the Lord, who heals them.” Isaiah 57:19

I encourage you not only to praise God for the good He’s done but also for the difficult times He’s allowing you to go through as well. YES! Praise God for the difficult times He’s allowing you to go through. Now before you think I’m crazy let me explain.

Realize you serve a God who is majestic and sovereign. Nothing happening in your life now is ‘news’ or beyond His control. With that being said, God has given you the end story to the situation you’re faced with. He’s told you through scripture that all things work together for [the] good to them that love [Him] (Romans 8:28). Surely you love God if you’re reading this.

Notice the bible verse declares, “all things work together for good to them that love God.” It doesn’t say some things will work out or that it will work out for everyone except you; it says ALL THINGS work together for YOUR good. Your situation may not be good but it WILL work out for your good. Hallelujah! That’s a reason worth praising God for right there. \o/

Praising God – Final Words

In closing, there’s something to learn during the mist of a difficult situation – although we don’t see it that way. Sometimes it’s during difficult times that we learn to praise God; how to draw near to God and how to trust God to be a provider.

The situation you’re faced with today was tagged with a solution over 2000 years ago before the foundations of the world. The only thing I encourage you to do is to pray without ceasing, hold steadfast to the Word of God, His promises and to continuously praise God while on your way to victory.

When times are pleasant, praise God! When times are rough, guess what? Start praising God! Your deliverance is in your praise! It’s by praising God with the fruit of your lips will you get through this hurdle.

Now, with that being said give praise to God; for the scripture declares, “let everything that has breath praise the LORD” (Psalms 150:6). God bless you and may you be encouraged in Jesus name; Amen!

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! (Psalm 43:5)

Depression can be so painful and deep- deep to the bone marrow of your soul hurting the physical and spiritual aspect of our lives.

But Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
My brother/sister let us rise up from our ashes. I know it hurts so bad, I know you do not even want to eat or feel like eating or vice versa. Yes you don’t feel like smiling, bathing or even praying and praising.

Yes, I don’t know what you are going through. But Jesus knows it all, and it is not His will that you remain bound with depression.

Isaiah 60:1 – Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. Shake off your dust (Isaiah 52:2).

Arise. God is the source and the strength of your life. Rise up oh chosen one. Wash up; dress up and smile. The Bible tells us to put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Yes you and I can do it. Not by our own strength, but through Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”.

Whether you know it as “you reap what you sow” or “what goes around comes around” as a Christian it’s important to understand the concept of reaping and sowing.

The following article was written by Mercy Adeyanju Mabwe. It blessed and encouraged me as it brought light on the meaning of reaping and sowing in a Christians life. I pray you’re blessed by it too.

Trust in the Lord, with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways Acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5).

Not too long ago I realized the secret to my harvest was in my sowing. God promises to direct our paths. However in every situation and circumstance we are given, we need do find the seed and put it in our palm ready to sow an outcome that we would like. As seed time and Harvest remain as sure as the law of gravity.

Maybe we may be wondering why we do not have friends, why many people do not stop and smile, have we planted seeds of friendship, do we initiate a smile? If not, start today. Maybe you may say yes you have planted friendship, favour, kindness, money, love, time, work, e.t.c. Then the next question is; have you done it cheerfully, expecting a harvest. If so then a ‘bumpa’ harvest is coming your way.

It may take a while but it’s coming. When you plant an orange seed, you do not expect a Harvest the following week, or even months, it may take a while. Keep watering, pruning, tend that garden and you will be amazed once the reaping starts; you will have no room to store those blessings.

Remember there is no limit to how much sowing you can do, the more you sow the larger the harvest. Be sure the seeds you are sowing are the kind you would like to reap as you will get many oranges from one tiny seed.

Be blessed today; sow seeds of goodness, and you are in for a bountiful harvest.

As a Christian, it’s important for you to know the incredible power of prayer. Whether your prayer is one for employment, forgiveness, guidance, healing, help, protection, or etc continue to pray because there is power in prayer.

God Already Knows Your Needs

The word of God says, “…don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need” (Bible verse: Luke 12:29-31).

God already knows what you need before you go to Him in prayer; He’s just waiting on you to ask Him. Now, I’m sure you ask, “if God already knows, why must I pray about it?” Well think about it like this: parents typically know the needs of their children before they ask for anything.

However, parents normally wait for the child to ask FIRST. Not because they don’t know the needs of their child but rather to wait and see if the child is going to ask for whatever they need.

Our Heavenly Father does the same with us. God is more than able to meet and exceed the needs of His children. God is only waiting for you to go before Him in prayer and tell Him what your needs are; my question to you is have you done it yet?

Make Your Request Known to God

The Bible tells us not to worry about anything but instead to pray and fast about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done (Philippians 4:6; NLT). I like this bible verse because it encourages us to make our requests known to God instead of worrying about everything which is something we seem to be good at doing.

No matter what you’re dealing with; how hard it may seem, there’s nothing impossible or too hard for God. God is more than able to heal your body, restore your marriage, save your household and etc. The only thing you have to do as a child of the Most High God is ask for it in prayer.

For the scripture declares that “you can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it” (Matthew 21:22). I am a living testimony that when you make up in your mind to have faith, pray and to seek and believe God, He will move favorably on your behalf.

I have prayed for healing, college grants, employment, direction, favor and etc and I have witness God open doors. Not because I deserve it (because I don’t), but because of God’s unmerited favor.

God Is An On Time God

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:16; NLT).

Never underestimate the power of prayer. Just because you’ve prayed for something 20 times or for 20 years does not mean your prayer went unheard. The manifestation of your prayer may not come when YOU want it, but if you continue to be diligent in your praying, you will see that God is an on time God.

Let me tell you something….the power of prayer will turn the situation around and cause God to produce a miracle for you in the midnight hour. It will cause a shift in the atmosphere just when you were about to lose all hope. It will cause your enemies to bless you; it will bring restoration to your household and etc. Why? Because “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

The Power of Prayer: Finial Words

Sometimes the most powerful prayer is not the one that last 60 minutes; at times the most powerful prayer is the one where you say, “God help me!”

I don’t know what your story is; I don’t know all that you’re going through but I want to encourage you today and let you know that there is power in prayer. God doesn’t want you to worry about today or tomorrow; instead He wants you to pray about everything and to make your request known to Him.

I encourage you to take God up on His word. I can attest to the incredible power of prayer as I have witnessed God’s unmerited favor last week. Not because I deserve it; but simply because I went before His throne and asked. I come to tell you that God still answers prayer; that there is power in prayer. Just be diligent; consistent and have faith.

Don’t give up if you don’t get what you are praying for immediately and don’t allow the devil to play with your mind neither. As a God that’s all knowing, you have to trust and know that God answers prayer in His perfect timing.

However, until you see your prayer manifest, continue to believe, have faith and to thank God in advance for answering your prayer. Remember, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything else will be added unto you. Don’t lose hope child of God, there is power in prayer.

Christian Prayer Request

It’s never too late to pray. God answers prayer and He’s still able to turn the situation around. Furthermore, if you need prayer, I would be more than happy to pray for you. Just send your prayer request to: contact@2PraiseGod.com or you can send your prayer request here.

God bless you and rest assure knowing that there is power in prayer. Be blessed and Encouraged in Jesus Name; Amen.

It’s easy to say, “give your cares to the Lord and trust Him” when everything in life seems to be going well. It’s easy to say, “I trust you Lord with everything I own” when bills are paid on time and when you just got a promotion at work.

However, if God striped you of everything you own; If God told you to leave the very job that’s paying your bills, will you trust the Lord enough to do it? Will you trust God even when you don’t understand; even when life hurts? If God told you to leave the familiar and enter the unfamiliar, will you trust Him?

For many of you, God has done just that. He has taken you from what’s “oh so familiar” and redirected your paths into the unfamiliar. You don’t understand what’s happening in your life; what to do or where to go. The only thing you know is that the Lord gave you a word (instruction, a promise, vision, etc) and the only thing you have to hold on to is that word.

I understand the feeling; you’re not alone. There is encouragement for you today. Here are 4 things to remember whenever you feel as though you don’t understand what God is doing and/or allowing in your life.

Consider the Source

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Revelation 22:13).

Who else can say that but God? No one, only God can say such a thing. God knows everything: the past, current and future and our knowledge and understanding doesn’t even compare to the knowledge and understanding of God – even when it applies to our own life.

Furthermore, when you don’t understand what God is doing in your life, consider the source – Who is it that you’re trusting; God or yourself?

Here is something to remember. Man is fallible; we fall short and at times we’re unable to keep our promises. Man can give you instructions that are misleading and imperfect. With God, none of these things are possible. God keeps His promises, God gives you right instructions according to His perfect will and He won’t mislead you.

No matter how much you don’t understand life as it is right now; no matter how uncomfortable it may seem or how hard it gets, don’t give up. If God is with you - the same God who spoke life into you, the same God who IS and knows the beginning and the end, the same God who knew you before the foundation of this world -is with you, then ask yourself who or WHAT can stand against you.

Consider the source and seek to be obedient to the Lord, even when you don t understand what God is doing in your life; don’t worry about “this or that” because God has provisions for you.

Trust the Lord

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).

When you learn to trust the Lord, you will begin to have a sense of rest in the Lord knowing that He has everything under control even when life seems to be out of control. Trusting God will get you to the point where you make a decision to trust in Him and NOT in your own logic and understanding.

As Christians, we must make a decision to trust Him regardless of how scary the situation may seem. Trusting God doesn’t prevent you from being in uncomfortable situations but it does allow you to be placed in a position where you seek the Lord’s presence, provisions, guidance and promises.

I encourage you to stop stressing yourself out- losing sleep, being weary, anxious, worried, depressed and sad. Don’t try to understand the ways of God because it is impossible for you to understand His decisions and ways! (Romans 11:33). The natural man cannot understand the things of God. For God’s ways are higher than mans, they are past finding out and this is why we must make a decision to trust our all knowing God.

Be Obedient

The bible states that “obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22)” which should tell you a lot about our God. God places significance on obedience. He’ll much rather you be obedient to His instruction than for you to give Him sacrificial praise, money offerings, fasting and etc.

Why do I bring obedience up? Because when God gives you instruction and you’re in a situation where you don’t understand what’s going on in your life, you need to be reminded to be obedient and to trust in the one who does understand – Christ. There are blessings that follow a person who is obedient just as there are curses that follows a person who is disobedient.

God Will Lead You

The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you” (Genesis 12:1).

God told Abraham to leave everything he knew; everything he was familiar with and to enter into the unfamiliar. God told him to go into a land which he will show him which meant Abraham didn’t know where he was going; He only had the instruction of the Lord to depend on. Abraham could have easily said, “God, where will I go; what will I eat and drink”, but he didn’t. He chose to trust God and be obedient and as Christians we must learn to do the same.

“It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8).

As much as we would like God to give us “what where when and how” upfront all the time (all in one shot), God does not operate like that. Sometimes, God will place you in a satiation where you have to trust Him and He’ll give you piece by piece as you obey and trust Him.

As a person who’s been in this situation, I will tell you that this only increases your faith as you learn to walk by faith and not by sight.

Trusting God When You Don’t Understand: Finial Words

I don’t know what your story is (your more than welcome to share it below), but I encourage you to trust God even when you don t understand what’s happening in your life.

You may not understand life and all that’s happening; but God will give you a piece to the puzzle as you learn to step out on faith, trust and obey him.

Don’t let the devil fool you into believing that you’re taking a step backwards in life or that you’ll never make it out of this situation; because you will. What you’re going through is temporary.

Encourage yourself in the Lord daily; read His word; pray without ceasing and seek His face. The next time you find yourself in a position where you are stressed and worried about what God is doing in your life remember to:

Consider the Source

Trust the Lord

Be Obedient

Trust God to Lead You

Prayer for Trusting God’s When You Don’t Understand Life

Heavenly Father,

I ask that you place within me your obedient spirit so that I may be obedient to your instruction. Help me Lord to walk by faith and not by sight. I don’t understand what you’re doing in my life, but I make a decision to trust you God.

In this season, I ask that you place within me your spirit of joy, peace and rest. Give me joy; peace and rest to endure all that comes my way. Right now, I make a decision to trust you Lord because I know that you’re in control of my life even when my life seems to be out of control.

Lord, I thank you for clarity, guidance, provision and strength. I pray and ask for these things in Jesus name; Amen.

Pray and stay in the word of God. There is strength for you in the word of God. Trust the Lord and be obedient even when you don’t understand life and what God is doing. Be blessed and encouraged in Jesus name.
