Pet Travel Insurance is becoming a very popular concept and pet owners don’t have to undergo the headache of canceling their planned travel trip for the sake of taking care of their beloved pet.

Travel pet insurance provides a comprehensive coverage and ensures that you don’t have to be worried about spending money in the process and at the same time your pet is given due care.

General Coverage

Travel insurance for Pets covers your pets travel and stay in other places. Not all hotels will allow yur pets to saty with you and there are only selected hotels that will give you this facility and if they do they will charge you heavily for the privilege. Remember not all tourist sites will allow your pets in. Insurance companies will reimburse you for the expenses undertaken.

Advantages to Insuring Your Pet

If your pet is not allowed into the place, whether its hotel or tourist site then you won’t have any other option other than hiring a pet sitter for the time being or keeping the pet in the room or the lodge where you stay.

In the first instance the pet insurance company may reimburse you for costs involved to find the Pet sitter and Pay his charges, whereas in the scond instance you will be required to compensate for damages done by the pet in your absence to the hotelier and so the insurance company will make good for the money you have paid.

Pets are not allowed to stay with the owner in most airlines, we all got off the plane and aited for our baggage to find it damaged, likewise with your pet travel carrier is also covered by the insurance company. However this will be applicable only if you prove that you have exercised reasonable care to prevent damages to pet travel carrier.

Pet Sitter and Other Factors

There are many reasons to insure a pet, depending on the reason why you decided to get a pet and possibly opt for a pet medical insurance in the first place. Pet Passport and Pet Health Insurance

With the introduction of Pet passports that have encouraged the growth of travel pet insurance industry. Formerly Pets would have to undergo many tests in the country where they are supposed to travel. The tests were taken to confirm they dont have fatal diseases like rabies and that they have taken all the required vaccinations. This was a said to be a difficult proposition because it took a long time for the tests to be over.

However after the introduction of Pet passports this problem has lost relevance as the pet passport is deemed to be an authenticate evidence and documentary proof certifying the pet’s health.

Recent changes to the UK’s quarantine laws mean that it is now possible for you to obtain a pet passport (under the government’s passport for pets’ scheme) and take your family pet away with you on holiday.

However, before you run off down to your local travel agent and book tickets for the whole family to that exotic seaside tropical location you have always wanted to visit but have to put off because everyone else at home didn’t want to leave Fido in the kennel, you might want to consider getting you and your family some travel insurance - including that all important travel pet insurance.

A number of leading pet insurance providers now offer pet owners travel pet insurance to give pet owners the comfort of knowing whether they are far away in exotic places enjoying the sun and sea or closer to home enjoying the cultural delights of Europe, their pet will be insured against any illness or mishap that may unfortunately befall them.

Typically, included in the travel pet insurance is:

x-rays

injections

lab tests

prescriptions

costs while they stay at the vet and recuperate

Keep in mind, however, that as with other types of insurance, travel pet insurance usually comes with what is known as an excess. In short, what this means is that you - as the owner if the pet - will be required to pay a certain amount until a threshold amount is reached. Thereafter you can claim for a reimbursement against the insurance provider.

However, unlike humans, travel pet insurance premiums are usually calculated on the type of animal you have and the age of the animal. As such, it is possible to leave arranging the travel pet insurance policy until the last minute, then purchasing this online once you have decided that you will definitely be taking your family pet away with you on your family holidays!

Moreover, as with human travel insurance policies, pet travel insurance can be purchased either as annual policy or as a one-off travel policy.

If you get an annual pet travel policy, this means you can take your pet with you whenever you travel one of the 25+ countries outside of the UK which the UK government currently has arrangements for the passport for pets’ scheme, or any of the European Union countries (which are all part of the passport for pets’ scheme already).

Alternatively, with one-off pet travel insurance policies you need to name the country you are going to visit and the dates you’ll be there and the policy will only cover you for the duration and place stated.

Are you the adventurous kind, making travel plans almost throughout the year? If your answer is -Yes then along with your trip, you should also plan your insurance.

If you have not bought a travel insurance policy yet, consider doing it right now. Always remember to compare travel insurance rates, coverage and plans before you decide on an insurance company.

Try and look out for the cheap travel insurance plans offered by various travel insurance companies. After all, a cheap travel insurance is always better than no travel coverage.

Thousands of students, business travelers and vacationers are traveling across the world, secured via cheap and affordable travel insurance Even the middle class family, that usually takes at least one vacation in a year, can afford cheap travel insurance.

In all of these instances, standard cover won’t meet your needs and you should be considering a specialist travel policy. Cheap travel insurance in such cases is often regarded better than going in for a standard insurance policy and plan including additional coverage.

The insurance company makes sure that no matter how big your travel plans are, you will be in a position to save up as much as possible. Now, if you buy a cheap travel insurance plan, the benefits of extra insurance coverage will be limited . But you are, however, assured of the insurance coverage required to fulfill your future requirements.

Purchasing a cheap travel insurance plan, offered by any leading insurance company today, is a wise step to manage your finances. You just have to keep in mind that your baggage is insured, you and your family will arrive conveniently, and in case a crisis crops up, you dont have to fall back on the fact of whether the insurance coverage of the travel company will cover you or not.

Cases of erroneous travel cover have been frequently heard of. The insured believes that he is safely insured with a travel insurance coverage, only to find out later from his travel insurance company, that he was not. To avoid such situations, you can compare and choose a cheap travel insurance policy and be safe.

Invest in a cheap travel insurance and enjoy a better travel experience. An affordable travel insurance plan is a smart decision that you must take, instead of going for an extra insurance coverage.

Get the best quotes of cheap travel insurance online. But it always does not imply that an affordable travel insurance plan will come with less coverage. Choosing the right travel insurance policy is a safeguard against the travel agents, who dupe into believing that travel insurance is inclusive of your travel plan.

Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, purchasing travel insurance can help save you money. It is the same principle that applies when you buy something of value like a car or a classic piece of jewelery.

Should anything happen, you do not want to lose your investment in one day. Most likely, you would want that car or ring replaced at full purchase value.

If you have purchased air tickets, you would want to protect that investment as well. Who wants to lose money especially in these dire economic times?

Ways that Travel Insurance Can Help You Save Money

There are at least three situations where purchasing travel insurance can help you save money:

1. Cancellation of flights If you or the airline decides to cancel the flights you are booked in, your airfare will be partially covered by travel insurance. Say if you spent $4,500.00 worth of air tickets for you and your family, and suddenly the airline closes down for business or cancels a flight for any reason, you do not lose all of the $4,500.00 because travel insurance will reimburse that amount.

Of course the airline will probably refund you the money if it is their fault, but having travel insurance will compensate you for the inconvenience and trouble. Also, if you cancel the flight yourself, travel insurance will get you back your money.

2. Loss of luggage When you purchase travel insurance, make sure it covers lost luggage as well. Imagine landing in some foreign country with none of your luggage! While most airlines are efficient about recovering lost luggage and delivering them to your door, dont rely on that efficiency. There have been instances where luggage was never recovered.

3. Medical problems You may be in perfect health when you leave for vacation but you increase the likelihood of getting exposed to viruses or bacteria either in the plane or in your country of destination. Theres also the chance that you could accidentally drink the local drinking water or eat contaminated food.

Medical visits in some foreign countries can cost an arm and a leg so you wouldnt want to spend all your vacation money on doctors visits! If you have travel insurance that covers expenses for brief hospitalizations, medicine and emergency situations, think about how much all these could add up if you didnt have travel insurance.

Tips for Purchasing Travel Insurance

* Ask your insurance provider - If you have an insurance company that insures your car, house and other property, they may also offer travel insurance or they may work with a partner or affiliate who does. Because you are an established customer, they may offer you travel insurance at lower rates.

It doesnt hurt to ask. In fact, in some instances, you may be better off going with your existing insurer than purchase separate insurance from the travel agent who books your flight.

* Go for the whole nine yards What this means is if you are traveling with the family, you might be better off buying family travel insurance instead of separate insurance policies. It also means that because traveling with children entails more risk than traveling alone, you may want to consider travel insurance that offers comprehensive coverage; that is, plane fares, luggage, and health and medical visits.

* Multi-trip travel insurance - If you make more than one trip every year, you might be better off purchasing an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy. This would save you the hassle of purchasing travel insurance several times during the year.

Some travel insurance companies will usually sell you a 12-month package that is renewable yearly and this is a huge convenience if you travel a lot during any given 12-month period. The single biggest advantage of buying an annual policy is that you dont need to worry about arranging for emergency medical coverage.

* Compare packages and prices As for most major ticket items, it pays to shop around for insurance. If you know you will be travelling six months from now, dont wait until the month before your travel date to do some bargain hunting. Start now so that you are not rushed about reading the fine print and you can make a more informed decision about the kind of travel insurance that is ideal for your situation.

Remember to do the cost analysis if you are ever tempted to skip travel insurance. Even if your ticket is discounted, say you paid $600.00 to go to the Caribbean. Travel insurance will cost about $85.00 to $100.00.

If you are forced to cancel your trip, you lose $600.00 (restricted and discounted tickets are usually non-refundable or non-transferrable) versus the $100.00 you paid if you had purchased travel insurance. If you want to save money, put travel insurance on the top of your list.

Author: Laura Willow

When booking an airport transfer it is important to bear a few facts in mind. Booking in advance, over the Internet can save a lot of time, energy and trouble.

Sometimes when arriving in a foreign land, taxicabs will not be metered and will want a pre-paid or pre-agreed fare. These pre-paid fares can be extortionate in value as well as service. Often the time taken for a journey can be short, but the fare distinctly overpriced.

Throughout my experiences travelling through Asia, through Vietnam, Thailand and Laos, taxicab fares have been up to 5 times the price paid by a local. When arriving at airports the tourist can often be jet legged, tired and confused, whereupon the unscrupulous taxi driver will take advantage of the dazed traveller, haranguing them into his taxi.

This very story happened to me a few years ago. I remember distinctly travelling from Hon Soi Square in Bejing and in my chagrin and naivety, I paid nearly 5 times the price to what I should have.

Taxi drivers will often hustle the weary traveller into their cabs, and in their tired desperation, in their jet lagged stupor, they agree to the outrageously overpriced fares, in their haste to get out of the sun, and towards a cold shower. This was a lesson I learned the hard way.

My taxi driver did take me to my agreed destination, but not before driving me to nearly the Hebei Province and back, through backstreets and alleyways, in an attempt to justify his expensive fare. After a few weeks in the town, I realised that the taxicab had driven an incredibly convoluted route, in an attempt to hide his shocking prices.

For those travelling on a budget, sometimes the difference in fare can mean a shorter stay, or being content with inferior accommodation. However I learnt my lesson well, and in future, I decided to prebook all my airport transfers in advance, over the Internet, to avoid such unscrupulous dealings.

I have had other friends in similar situations. One friend in Ho Chi Min City Vietnam, was transferred to rather an unsavoury part of town, due to a language mix up with the driver. As he had prepaid the fare, he had little choice when the driver demanded he vacate his cab, and was promptly, rather unceremoniously, dumped at the side of Phu My Hung.

The driver shook his head in anger when my friend demanded his money back, but abdicated all responsibility, threw his luggage to the side of the road, and drove off at speed with his hefty profit. Rogue taxi drivers will often lay in wait at airports, agreeing with the traveller their taxis are metered, but once in the taxi they demand their fare.

When exhausted from long haul flights, the last thing the busy traveller or business executive wants is to argue the odds over a hot and humid taxi journey. Pre-booking airport transfers was the best decision I ever made.

I implore you, when travelling to exotic climes, pre-book your airport transfers; they will save you a tremendous amount of hassle and time, making your journey as stress-free as possible. Pre-booked taxis can appear more expensive, but believe me, from the experiences Ive had, they are ridiculously cheap.

Pre-book now at Holiday Taxis.
The weather is set to improve during August and if this prediction comes to fruition we may be able to head to the seaside for some much needed sun.

If you are interested in spending some time by the sea then there are a few places in Britain that you can visit; here you will find a range of activities for everyone ranging from water sports for the more adventurous family members, children activities and carnivals and festivals providing you with some entertainment throughout the day.

Here are a few places you can choose to visit this August to enjoy the seaside;

Blackpool

There is always plenty going on in and around Blackpool so you will never be short of activities. There are also plenty of events arranged for August and September that are going to be great fun.

On the 9th August there will be an air show put on by the Red Arrows and accompanied by various wartime aircrafts and should be interesting for all the family. If you are travelling with children then the BBC Bang Goes the Theory roadshow is ideal for them to enjoy science and learn some interesting facts.

The roadshow is from the 22nd to 23rd August. The Pleasure Beach has been significantly cleaned in recent years so now you can enjoy the sun with all the family.

Eastbourne

Eastbourne is another place where many people travel to do spend some quality days by the sea. Like Blackpool there is also an International air show featuring the Red Arrows this time the event will take place on the 16th August.

If you are looking for adventure then Go Fast! Is Eastbournes downhill racing event that starts on the 21st August and finishes on 23rd August. Travelling with kids is no problem as there is a free activity pack available from the Lifeguard station; alternatively you can join them on a rockpooling experience in Falling Sands which is a great experience.

Portsmouth

Portsmouth is one of the most famous seaside resorts and is very popular amongst families, there is always plenty going on with a wide range of activities for all the family.
A lot of folks do not plan when they travel to Europe. They just go wherever their heart desires once they get there.

This is not a smart idea at all. If you are already in your destination, doing research will already be a little too late. It will be harder than doing it beforehand.

Also if you do not have a plan outline, you might miss some great places, end up being frustrated moving back and forth and waste money. A good itinerary will usually help in conserving your energy, fix your schedule and visit locations that are nearby.

If you travel by train during the night, you will save yourself a booking in a hotel.

The trains and the subway systems in Europe are efficient, clean and mostly inexpensive that a Eurorail pass is no longer a necessity on your part. You can do the traveling while you are getting sleep just like the cost of having to stay at the hotel, but all for the price of one.

Booking the tickets can be done 30 minutes before departure so it is wise to know the schedules. You will see the beautiful countryside while riding the comfortable train with great amenities. They can host a buffet and offer onboard entertainment in the long hours of travel.

Always travel light. If you buy so much stuff, leave your old clothes to charity or give them away. Do not carry too much weight. Another technique is not to carry those bulky travel guides. Photocopy the ones that you need and leave the bulky book behind.

Bring with you some snacks. You can buy them along the way. It gets a little bit pricier once you are in the city and snacking on the way takes away the urge to dine in fine restaurants.

In most European city accommodations, you can find a tourist booth or a tourist accommodation center where you can get information like hotel, rentals, transportation, maps etc. However, take note that these benefits will require you to pay a good sum in exchange for the services you acquired. Long ago booking last minute deals are the way to go, but since the advent of computers, the internet has all the deals, so make sure to check out and plan in advance.

If you are still new to the internet, I suggest you check with the notable sites found in the search engines like Google and Yahoo. You can do this too while you are already in your destination. You may visit cafes that offers internet services and do research for your next itinerary and destinations.

Almost everything can be found now on the internet. A nice and interesting site offering hotels in UK, Italy and France can be checked by new or experienced travellers for useful accommodation info.

Author: Auckland Semper Jr

In flying to any place in Asia you want an airline that will take you there and has a reputation for having good decent service.

The most frequently used of all carriers that fly to many Asian countries are United Airlines and American Airlines. Both airlines fly non-stop, but usually they have a layover in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, and Athens or other cities in Europe, but usually they do non-stop flights.

The average person will spend about 12-15 hours on a single non-stop flight depending on where they’re flying. Most of the time you would have to change flights in either New York since some people fly to Asia that way or out of Los Angeles or San Francisco-though the flight is much longer going from New York to Tokyo with maybe a layover in Rome or Athens.

Many foreign-based airlines have terminals inside American airports in certain cities that have the highest concentration of international flights and travelers who travel to Asia for business to leisure vacations. Some of the airlines have frequent flights to countries that have a lot of customers flying to them.

In recent years with the increase of traffic to places like Tokyo, Beijing, and other cities in Asia the airlines have been increasing the number of flights they put out per day to meet the demand of the market and the traffic that uses specific routes throughout the region.

Some airlines did cut their routes short to Asia when they weren’t drumming up enough customers. What’s nice is that usually the international terminals for U.S. based carriers are less crowded than those who are on domestic flights since you go through a more thorough security check and through customs screening before being allowed to enter the terminal.

Usually most international flights leave out twice a day in the morning and afternoon, but depending on the carrier if they have red eye flights-very late night flights, but usually red eye flights leave between 10 and midnight and land at their destination the next day or early afternoon. These flights can a lot longer than ones that leave early in the day. These are also the less crowded flights since more people will likely travel during the day instead of at night.

Night flights are comfortable because it’s quiet and you can actually relax and sleep through the flight and some late night flights will show movies and serve a really nice dinner versus the snacks you’re served in coach and business class. Some carriers will serve a nice meal depending on your flight and where you’re going on your itinerary.

Usually the flights to Asia going east from New York or west from California are the ones you can watch movies on and relax into a different time zone before landing so it makes dealing with jet lag a lot easier and less stressful on you when you officially wake up for the day since many travelers mainly those who fly to Asia will deal with a higher level of jet lag since the flights are a lot longer.
