I am what you may call an artistic Jack of all trades, or Jill perhaps is more fitting! I draw, I paint, I write, I speak, I sing, I sculpt, but most notably, I photograph.

I believe that an artist cannot be made; I believe you are born that way. I believe that no amount of classes, skills, or experiences in life can make you an artist. I am one of the lucky ones, I have always been, and always will be an artist.

As a child my parents were divorced and my situation was less than a fairytale. I didn't get to see my mom as often as most little girls should, but when I did, I remember The Beatles and Red Hot Chili Peppers playing while we had "arts and craft" time. Growing up I remember always doodling, repainting my room nearly monthly, loving to go out with a point-and-shoot camera, having my very first poem published at the age of 12 and writing my first short story very shortly after. But I never thought that I was an artist.

I believe that nothing in life can be achieved all on your own; everyone needs guidance and support to achieve their full potential.

My guidance came to me in at age 15 -- which also happens to be the year I got my first DSLR camera. I took my first high school art class "Intro to Art" with by far the greatest teacher I have ever had. His name is Jason Detert, he made art inspiring and understandable to even the common farm boys that passed through his class room.

I remember I had an outburst in his class because I went ahead on a project, which I shouldn't have done. He took me out to the hall to address the problem, and when I burst into tears I think he realized what I still was unable to see: every little piece of art was also a little piece of me.

I remember from that day I never half-assed another art project, even if it meant that I had to turn it in late. That class was by far the most important class I had ever taken. It taught me not only the importance of art, but also how to channel my emotions into art. Even though I have bonded with my other art teacher to the point that she feels like family, Mr. Detert will always be my favorite teacher. I think that without even realizing it, he taught me not just art, but also who I was meant to be.

Fast, fast forward 3 years. I have graduated from high school as the "most artistic" female in the class, art club president, an inspiration. Having run my own little photography business for 3 years and accepted to the perfect art school in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I never would have imagined that I could have gotten to where I am today and without the people who know and love me. I have an incredible, supportive, sweetheart of a boyfriend and the greatest friends in the world.

I am in the process of training an intern to take over my photography in the Rochester area while I'm away at college.

She is 16, just like I was when I interned for photography. Her name is Marissa and she is such a reflection of myself it's insane! Being a teacher has been one of the most incredible experiences for me. At first I assumed I would be jealous if her photos got more publicity than mine, but when I saw that happen it just warmed my heart.

We have been shooting together for nearly 3 months now and it's hard to come to grips with the fact that I won't have her by my side when I shoot in the cities! I love Marissa with all my heart because she has the same burning desire that I have for art. She too was born an artist, nothing else.

I know that a lot of people probably write her off for being so young, but I was even younger when I started! Art knows no age. I am so incredibly proud of her, I really couldn't ask for a better business partner or friend. It's nice because I can't talk art -- namely photography -- with most of my friends. Luckily Marissa is also a jill-of-all-trades.

One of the biggest things I have been teaching her is not technique, but rather, emotion, just as I was first taught. We see a location and we immediately get the same image, it's like we share a brain!

Okay, I know, my life sounds like all rainbows and butterflies... ...if only! Being an artist I am so incredibly prone to intense emotions. I feel them at a much higher level than the average bear. It's almost like I'm in a long-term relationship with emotions!

Whether from the stress of moving, having no car yet a booming amount of photo-shoots, scheduling, or even family nagging, I definitely have times for my rainbow to fade.

The very first thing I do when I'm upset is find some good angry music, a canvas, and paint. I generally finger paint when I'm upset, I feel much more connected to the canvas without brushes. Sometimes I even sit down to paint just for fun and end up crying.

A canvas is probably better than a therapist for me! If that, for some odd reason doesn't work, I'll call my boyfriend and even when he has no clue what to say, just hearing his voice makes me feel better.

To sum up my emotion recovery plan: All you need is love... ...and a canvas!

I have so many hopes and dreams for the future, which I cannot wait to share with the world! My main goal in life is to remind the world of the significance of art.

In an educational system where math and science are being crammed down throats, I want people to remember the importance of art. I hear so many people say "I'd love to go to art school, but..."

There should be no buts, if it's your passion follow it.

I leave you with only this: Follow your heart, make art, and be happy.

We live in a crazy world. A world overfilled with negativity, hate, pressure, and just about every other self-defeating energy you can think of. To live happily, to live abundantly and to live freely (i.e., on your own terms) doesn't always come easy. I should know, as I lived almost 20 years of my life not realizing that I had a choice in the above matter. I saw happiness as a reward to achieving certain (superficial) goals. I told myself things like "If I could just lose 10 more pounds, I'll be happy" - I reinforced the idea that I was not worthy of living a beautiful life, while letting this crazy world we live in get the best of me.

So, when Margo asked me " "what makes your heart sing, what puts a smile on your face, what do you do when you’re feeling down and how do you turn that frown around" I immediately knew the answer: Remembering that everything in this world is choice. We choose how we feel, we choose who we are and we choose the kind of life we live. Sure, there are catastrophic things that happen without our control, but we have the ability to choose how we respond to those events.

This past year, I've embarked upon the most emotionally nutty journey of my life. I've pushed myself to the limits emotionally and physically and as of right now, I understand that this won't be letting up anytime soon. However, in the emotional chaos that my life has become, I'm finding happiness in reminding myself that everything in this world is choice. Just knowing that I have the power to feel any emotion at any time is truly what puts a smile on my face. Although, I have not mastered this concept (I am human after all), the hope of it's possibility keeps my spirits lifted. It's somewhat tough love in nature, as most people don't want to except that where they may be in life (emotionally or physically) is a result of their own choices, but it's as simple as that. I constantly remind myself that no matter how bad the situation may be, I have a choice in how I perceive that situation - I can go crazy and pull the "woe is me" act, or, I can make lemonade with dem' lemons. Let me tell you, sanity requires the latter.

One choice I've personally made that has impacted my emotional self the greatest, was when I chose to Let Go (or at least, embrace this concept). Being in such a transitional point in my life, I have found the most peace with a simple reminder to 'let go' and have faith. I've stopped fighting the unnatural, I've stopped trying to control how people perceive me (no matter my actions) and most importantly, I've stopped living by what I expected my life to look like 10 years ago - as those expectations were preventing me from finding happiness in a different path. I no longer fear the future as much as I once did, because a) I truly believe everything happens for a reason and b) I can't exactly control the future, so why be miserable trying? Rather, I make smart decisions in the moment, while letting the rest fall (or not fall) into place.

Moreover, I find happiness in constantly asking myself "If I were to die tomorrow, would I be ok with what I've done so far?". It may seem dark in nature, but by constantly asking myself this question, I find it helps me live more in the moment - as opposed to living for tomorrow. A lot of times, I let fear of rejection hold me back from doing things, and this concept (what if today were my last?) has helped me break through that fear. In the grand scheme of things, I don't want leave this world with any regrets. Because after all, isn't that what's it's all about? Choose to be happy, learn to let go and most importantly, never let anyone keep you from fully living your life.

My passion is hooping. Yep, that’s right, as in “hula hooping.” I first saw hoop dance at a festival in 2008. I fell in love instantly. I told my girlfriends “I’m going to do that.” The very next weekend I made my first hoops. My life has never been the same!

At first I just enjoyed the challenge of it. Learning to hoop, learning tricks, seeing how far I could take it. It quickly became an obsession. All I wanted to do was hoop! As time went on, I found other benefits, I found it relaxed me. It was a great escape. I could get into my hoop and get into a meditative state, peace, and energy, being one with my hoop. This state of being is referred to as “flow.”

Wikipedia states: Flow is the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. Proposed by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, the positive psychology concept has been widely referenced across a variety of fields.

According to Csikszentmihalyi, flow is completely focused motivation. It is a single-minded immersion and represents perhaps the ultimate in harnessing the emotions in the service of performing and learning. In flow, the emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive, energized, and aligned with the task at hand. To be caught in the ennui of depression or the agitation of anxiety is to be barred from flow. The hallmark of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy, even rapture, while performing a taskalthough flow is also described as a deep focus on nothing but the activity – not even oneself or one's emotions.

I was hooked! Learning something new, exercising, getting fit, AND having fun?! I started hooping everywhere with the few friends I had that were learning with me. We were hooping in back yards, dining rooms, parking lots, bars, hotel rooms, rooftops, in the street, on the sidewalk, in the elevator…..yeah, that happened. There was no where we wouldn’t take our hoop! A friend lovingly called us a group of hoop hooligans, another friend saw the humor in that and dubbed us “The Hulagans.” And so we have been ever since.

We started out as a small group of friends hooping for fun, but as time went on, we started to discover our potential. We started getting asked to go hoop at events, we had kids looking up to us, we had people wanting to learn from us. We began to realize we had a real gift, and we needed to share it!

Since forming in 2009, The Hulagans have taken hooping to the streets! We’ve performed at charity and fundraising events for The Special Learning Center, The MU Children’s Hospital, The Special Olympics, Big Brothers - Big Sisters, Relay for Life, and the Mid-Mo Pride Fest. We have also been asked to perform at gigs big and small! Such as the Columbia Parks and Rec’s Family Fun Fests, CDC’s Bass Cabarets, The Blue Note’s 70’s Dance Parties, Pedaler’s Jamboree, T/F Film Festival’s March March Parade, Citizen Jane Film Fest, Dixon Cow Days, Columbia’s First Night Celebration, Thursday Night Live, Salute to America, Videology, South School, California MO’s Girl Scouts Troup, and many more. One of our biggest gigs is yet to come, the 2012 Roots, Blues and BBQ Festival! Yay! We have been featured in the media as well. Widbin’s Way on KMIZ, the Maneater, Vox Magazine, The Columbia Missourian, The Jefferson City News Tribune, to name a few. We have even hosted two World Hoop Day events, one in 2009 and one in 2011. We made and gave away 200+ hoops to local children at each event, provided live music, and taught the kids to use their hoops, all for freeeeeee!

The Hulagans are now a group of over 20 hoopers, dedicated to the art of hoop dancing. We have recently undergone a change to facilitate an even more powerful group of professional performers. We’re going to take it to the next level. Watch out! Soon everyone will know our name. J

Hooping has done a lot more than just bringing me together with one of the greatest hoop troupes ever! I feel like the wheel of my life was moving very slowly when I found hooping, and since then, it has done nothing but gain speed and momentum. Hooping has set things into motion that I would previously have never dreamed of. I have become a lot healthier, both physically and mentally. I’ve been exposed to more people than I ever have been before. People who have taught me much! I’ve learned about energy transference, The Law of Attraction, the food industry, eating healthy, gardening, meditation, music and more! I have since adjusted my lifestyle to live in a way that is both healthier for myself and the earth, and also more spiritually conscious.

Around the time the Hulagans formed, I started my own business making and selling custom hoops. I named it “Little Miss Hoops-A-Lot” after a series of books my daughter was reading at the time, The Little Miss and Mr. Men books. She once told me I would be “Little Miss A Lot of Hoops.” Business started out slow, but gradually, as hooping gained popularity, I soon had more orders than I could fill. I sold at festivals, over the phone and the web, and even in a few stores. I still take custom orders today, and you can still find my hoops at Maude Vintage, in Columbia, MO.

In 2010 I met a small group of fire spinners, and began joining them for regular spins. Soon I was performing with the Burn Circus, as much as I was the Hulagans. This group has swollen over the years too, and now has 30+ members spinning all sorts of fabulous fire toys. These people also became the greatest group of friends I have ever had.

Through the Burn Circus, I also met the man of my dreams! We have been together for going on two years. I really couldn’t be happier. We have much in common, but enough difference to keep it interesting. Our love of spinning and that feeling of flow continues to be a good foundation for us.

I’ve also been introduced to other circus arts that I never would have considered in my pre-hoop life. I’ve dabbled with poi and staff, but really found an interest in pole sport, and aerial silk

I am continuing to learn those new skills, as they are helping me get fit, and increasing my self-confidence. I am discovering that same new joy and excitement in them that I first found in hooping.

I have found my joy, my purpose! I’m happier and healthier than I have ever been. I belong to two amazing performance groups, and have met and made the best friends I could have ever asked for, including my darling boyfriend.

1.I am neither a city gal nor a country gal. My dream is to live in peace and quiet, surrounded by nature, on the outskirts of a big, vibrant city like L.A. (where I lived for 9 years).

2.I am a "dog person" but I have a cat named "Puppy".

3.I have loved singing since I was a child and have always wanted to sing in a band, yet have battled extreme shyness with singing in front of others. And I don’t care if I am 40 years old -- I still want to be a rock star someday.

4.I love to see live music so much that I once saw over 60 bands within a six month period.

5.Since I was a teen, I've always wished that I could dye my hair crazy colors like blue and purple. However, I have never found a hairdresser who is willing to do it for me.

6.I rarely watch television, but spend too much time on the computer.

7.I prefer a mostly vegan and raw diet, but since leaving California two years ago, I have been very bad at adhering to those preferences.

8.I am a Reiki master, but I do not use Reiki nearly as often as I should.

9.I live with my boyfriend, who I have known for 29 years. He was the first boy to ever ask me out…in 7th grade. I was too shy to say “yes” and always regretted it.

10.I tend to have hippie values, but I like rock n’ roll style. And though I’m often more plain than I desire in appearance, I tend to dislike trends and lean toward the avant-garde in my tastes.

11.I was the inspiration for a popular hit song on the radio during the mid-90s.

12.I would be happy not to ever see snow again in my life.

13.My mental telepathy and psychic awareness is so strong that it frequently causes me overwhelming stress. (I haven't yet learned how to control it at will or "turn it off" when I need a break from it).

14.My most favorite activity is dancing to music that I love.

15.I was fortunate to have the experience of being a band manager for my all-time favorite singer/songwriters band.

16.I never wore eye make-up until I was 37 years old, although I still go without any make-up on most days. And once again, I don’t care if I am 40 years old, but I really like the emo/goth/scene look. I'm just not very good at achieving it!

17.I do not drink alcohol or do any drugs.

18.At age 40, I still don’t know if I ever want to have children of my own. And most of my close friends in my age range still haven’t had kids, either.

19.I studied under several skilled and prominent spiritual teachers when I was in L.A. My career goal for the past several years has included becoming a healer and a spiritual coach, but I’ve been unable to decide on an area of focus. I have a belief that I was a priestess in a past life on Atlantis and that I have carried that vibration and skill over to this lifetime.

20.I have a master’s degree in print journalism with a focus in magazine writing, but have never seemed to use those skills in my career. I think I’ve now forgotten what I learned so long ago!

My name is Sunny and I spend everyday of my life living up to that name. I'm an artist, I'm a creative, and I'm an inspirational ray of light to all who meet me. I’ve spent much of my adult life creating the world around me to reflect my innermost desires. I’ve surrounded myself with people who support and encourage me, people who understand me, people who are positive and who are creating their own magical world as well. I’m energetic, optimistic, aware, and joyful,
and people tend to feed off those feelings that I radiate.

My world is filled with love, beauty, and positivity. I am polyamorous, which means that I am most happy when I can give as much of my heart to as many people as I see fit. I’m not bound by the rules of society, who insist that the only way to love people is in monogamous relationships. I love the people in my life with my whole heart, friends, family, and lovers. I feel freer this way, allowing myself to give as much of myself as I want to those around me. I have an incredibly supportive husband and two wonderful boyfriends, all of whom I am able to give my heart to completely. I have very open, honest, and trusting relationships with all three men, which allows this kind of situation to occur successfully. My friends are also very supportive of me and my decisions, as I am able to love and care for them immensely as well. I’m so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life.

I wasn’t always surrounded by positive, encouraging, supportive people. It took a long time for me to remove the negative, energy-draining people from my life. It was a very difficult, painful experience to realize that if I wanted to truly live in a supportive, happy, encouraging environment all the time, I needed to do the work to remove the negativity from my world. It wasn’t easy to remove those people, but it was necessary for me to continue creating my most joyful world.

There are times when I feel down. When I let my inner critic have her way with me. I feel like I’m a fraud, I’m a failure, I’m worthless, and I don’t deserve all the love that I receive. In the past when this has happened, I would let all those negative feelings eat at me until I was crying into my pillow, hiding under the covers, waiting for the world to end. But I don’t let that happen any longer. When I start to feel myself falling down that dark spiral of self-hate and hopelessness, I write. I write about all the ways that I’m winning. I write about all the incredible things happening in my life. I write about all the reasons why I love myself. When I first started writing this way, it was difficult to realize all the wonderful things in my life. When you’re in a dark place, sometimes it’s so difficult to see the light. But the more I wrote gratitude posts, the more I wrote love letters to myself, the easier it got, and the lighter I felt. I have so many little letters I’ve written to myself. Little post-its, little memos, little love notes. I realized that in order to feel like I deserve anyone else’s love, I needed to completely love myself. I have to love me enough to know that I am worth it. That took a very long time, and there are days when it is still challenging. But the more I reaffirm my love for myself, the more I believe it, and the more love I am able to radiate out to other people.

I’m an artist, and I make a habit of spending time in my studio every night. I try to make it a point to create something, anything, every day. I believe that making time in your life to facilitate creativity is vital to a happier, more full life. Even if I just spend time in my studio listening to music or watching the squirrels play outside, it’s still inspiring my mind creatively. I also give myself plenty of time to play with art. It can be daunting to go into the studio to “create” something, but if I go into it with the mindset of play, I feel less pressure to make a masterpiece. Many of my favorite pieces were made while I played in the studio.

My world is full of magic, happiness, delicious food, conscious thinkers, doers, artists, creators, lovers, friends, and gratitude. Lots and lots of gratitude. I’ve done the work to create this life, and I’m so grateful that this happiness continues.

I’m going to share something I’ve only shared with a few people. But I feel may be necessary to help people understand a little better why equality is so important. Sometimes when the story comes from an unlikely source, the shock helps it set in a little better…

I’m scared. I live in fear. Some days it’s a lot of fear and I think about it periodically throughout the day, and some days I don’t really think about it at all, but it’s there.

I live in fear because I live in a country where I am not exactly “free” to be myself. Yeah, I’m denied rites, and yeah, this is the “land of the free” but politics and government aside- I live in the bible belt, and while I know there is hate everywhere- it is especially predominant here. I have to be afraid someone can tell that I am a part of the LGBTQ community based off how I look, based off of who I hang out with and based off of who I date- because there are people around here who won’t bat an eyelash before whooping my ass because of who I love. Shit, I even wore a wig to my last job just so I looked a little more “hetero”. I have been told before (by a co-worker, who did not receive any disciplinary action after I reported him) “you want to look like a man, then I’ll fucking hit you like a man” do you know how terrifying that is?! I’ve been told I couldn’t kiss my girlfriend in straight bar because it was “inappropriate” while I watched a heterosexual couple make out on the other side of the bar. A guy got beat nearly to death in my city for having a pride sticker on his car. Another girl chased, because of hers.

THIS IS NOT OKAY! I am so tired of living in fear. I’m tired of wondering if someone will come into my office and see my rainbow key chain (that I always try to remember to hide) and open fire on me.

I’m a very strong, opinionated, not easily effected woman. But this, this gets me. It needs to stop. I’m ready to feel what it feels like to step outside for my day with no fear, knowing I can go my entire day and not once will anyone even LOOK at me as if I’m anything other than human.

Love… not hate. Why can’t we just cut the bullshit on both sides, let it all melt away and focus on what the important issue at hand is… love, acceptance, equality.

We mostly followed the Italian customs, so that is the nationality that I claim.

Family is the most important thing in the world to me.

Being around my children and two my granddaughters makes me smile like a cheshire cat.

My parents are deceased now, so it is important to me to keep in touch with my two brothers Michael and Larry.

In my free time, I really enjoy cooking.

That is something that I have done since about the age of 10 or 11. I love trying new types of food. My favorites are Greek, Italian, and Middle Eastern. My least favorite is Indian or anything that's so hot you can't eat it. I love to be able to cook for someone and watch then eat and enjoy. My son was married this last weekend and I cooked and watching everyone eat, it just warms the coggles of my heart.

My psychic ability started when I was 8.

I was raised Roman Catholic so the thought of being a psychic was taboo. It was swept under the table and in my later teens I decided to pay attention to it and work with it. I have vast array of things that I do. Find missing persons, parties etc.

My day is always jam packed with questions from around the world.

I love being able to give someone an answer to a question. Sometimes it is of the most fun nature and sometimes its of the most desperate nature. I answer all that I can...at the end of the day I usually smile feeling very satisfied.

A serious psychic experience: I remember looking at a horse that belonged to a client of mine...I told her something was wrong with its eye...it looked like cancer. She was seen by the vet and diagnosed with orbital cancer. They caught it early and the horse is doing great!!

A funny story has to be: I was in pasta house in st Louis and this waiter rushes past me. I could feel a connection and didn't know what it was. As soon as I could get his attention I said, " is your birthday December 6"? He looked at me oddly and said ,"yes.". I said good so is mine. We are friends to this day.

When I'm down... I try to meditate and find all the positive things in my life at that moment in time.

I try to stick to the here and now and I find so many things to be thankful for. Walking takes my mind off things.

The same goes for turning a bad situation around. I put positive thoughts out to the universe and let it go.

One thing a lot of people don't know about me- I am very sensitive.

I have a side to me that gets hurt easily and I end up crying like a normal girl.

But I also have an ass kicking side that can come out in a new York minute.

My best friend's name is Gina.

I have a few other friends that I would walk thru fire for: Karen, Julie, Josephina, Chris and Pete.

They don't judge me and accept me for who I am.

My passion in life.....making people smile.

"I have always been a person who is full of imagination. There are constantly thoughts going on in my head. Reading or being in a conversation all come as a visual form to me. Which is what brings me to what I want to create. Creativity is something I’ve followed my whole life. Despite the occasional rut (which we all get in sometimes) I find Creating something brings me out of another mood… be it depressed or just feeling low. I love to create artwork when I am feeling up to it, it’s something like your blood type- no matter how many times someone does something It is never the SAME. Sure “it’s all been done” I agree- but we are all so different it’s amazing.

I am very attracted to anything related to stars,the universe and glittery things. Those things make me smile like a little girl. I am happiest when I am around those I love and Animals mean the world to me. I am also vegan. My boyfriend is amazing and I’m very lucky to be surrounded by people who do care about me. Seeing my 5 year old niece is the light of my life…I don’t think i’ve ever smiled so big as I have when I see her.

I think people often misunderstand me as I am always trying to help other people, and my heart is always on the line- I feel like sometimes that’s taken advantage of and I often get hurt. Ok more than sometimes ;] But I don’t think I could be any other way. It sucks to get hurt but I fully believe in being a kind person and that wont change.

I would like for people to open their hearts and minds- this world is complicated and there is nothing wrong with being yourself. I am fully supportive of Equal rights to all human beings, (as well as animals,etc.) In all ways. I am all for Gay,Bi,Straight…whatever you may be. That does not define you as a person- and no one can put a label on what love is. Follow your heart…and try to keep a light shining in not only your soul but others too.

Lastly I’d like to say this: Don’t waste your time wondering who’s going to love you- Start with yourself and then it will all fall in place. You are never alone.

I, like most people have been through some pretty tough times and, through those experience, I am who I am today. My traumas started early in life. I survived spinal meningitis at 2 1/2 years old. Turns out I had to learn to walk, talk, and eat all over again AND, I went from losing all my hearing to getting most of it back. My mom had me in dance classes to help with my balance issues. I ended up loving it; I danced for 10 years before I decided I had enough. Then, in my early teens, I survived two years of molestation by a friend's father. I never told my parents until I had my own child, 12 years later. Even then, it was tough to get the words out. Opening up about it was a huge relief. He eventually admitted to everything and that is when I was able to forgive and begin the healing process.

When I got pregnant in 1996, it was not planned but I was so excited to be a mom. The father appeared to be, too - at first. One day, he just disappeared out of my life. I went on to experience the pregnancy solo, living with my mom. We lived at the beach and would walk a good 10 miles per day. At the end of my 8th month, I started feeling tired and there was less fetal movement. Turns out something was wrong and I was sent to a hospital. I drove myself there and back home only to return yet again.
Through the first 5 years, my baby boy was in and out of hospitals every week. I would drive him between the two best hospitals; one an hour away, the other nearly 2 hours away. My beautiful son was born with an auto-immune condition, enlarged organs and was transfusion-dependent. It was quite scary. A single mom standing in front of a group of doctors' telling me they don't know what is happening to my son and if he's going to survive. We both had numerous tests done, they were mostly on my son, as he started on his first blood transfusion at a day old.

By the time he was 5 years old, his belly was so large due to an enlarged liver, heart the size of an adult male, and two spleens (one the size of a football). The hospital removed the two spleens. A series of problems occured following surgery; He flat-lined after surgery and was unable to breath on his own. A few seizures were caused by a clot in the right frontal of his brain. Ten days following surgery he was still on a breathing machine and they didn't know what to do to get him off of it. The Doctors felt a couple of blood transfusions would help. After all, he was able to remain alive with a series of thirty-one blood transfusion since birth. Two more totaling Thirty-three, did the trick. He learned to walk again without the large, extended belly.

From the day he was born, I became a researcher for his life. We connected with naturopaths/homeopaths, studied his symptoms, travelled out West to learn new treatments to help him thrive. Through these experiences I have become a certified colon hydrotherapist, master in holistic healing arts, kid's nutrition specialist, and certified fitness chef. We are vegan, mostly raw. Even when Ben was a baby, I would steam, puree and jar his foods in glass containers. However, despite my best efforts, anemia robbed my son of a healthy set of baby teeth. He ended up having all his teeth pulled at age 4. Thankfully, through all our hard work, dedication, and positive attitude, he has a healthy set of adult teeth with no cavities( braces sporting red, white and blue is my son's request to show his support for our troops). He is schooled at home to protect him from unnecessary colds/viruses in a school setting, but he continues to do well, considering his situation.

Once we settled into our new home, I began the assessment of our lives. I slowly started removing people from our lives who had been dragging us down, negative, or just simply unhealthy to be around. Little by little we started feeling better. More liberated. We started eating healthier. This is when we decided to go vegan.

We kept busy spending time with new friends, focused on school and family. We started spending a lot of time on the nature trails to get a healthy dose of goodness for our souls. Life was getting better! Healthier!

In the spring my mom moved with us and, I started a new job, part-time at a university. We moved, yet again, into a place with more space and have been very happy. All the traumas, stressful events, and negative experiences made me who I am today. I would not change a second of my life because I love who I have become and how much stronger I am from the entire process. My son made honors, high honors all year he attends life skills tranings, and enjoys private guitar lessons every week. If we have an 'off' day, feel blue, stressed, or discouraged I turn to nature, to friends and family.

I started a healthy lifestyle group to educate friends about various foods, herbs, spices, etc. and their purposes to allow for them to start making healthier lifestyle changes and boost their confidence along the way. I also started two pages on FB to help others keep a positive outlook on life; Purity & Balance (Body * Mind * Spirit) and improve their eating lifestyle; Raw Food - Happy Soul.
Through humor, a positive attitude, and unconditional love, anything is possible, I am living proof of that! I am completely happy with my life and how my son is progressing through his teens...we are Thriving!

The Goddess Project has been percolating in my brain for sometime now.

Its not surprising as I look over my Facebook feed, I see a kaleidoscope of Goddesses, that move through my day...my thoughts...my life.

When I knew that I had to do this project I began to send out invitations outlining my idea. More then one woman thought I had made a mistake asking for their participation. This surprised me, how could they not see what I see? A shinning Goddess!

Goddesses are a complex mixture of light and dark. I have noticed that often women seem to have a hard time accepting or believing how incredibly beautiful they are, not just their outward appearances, but from the precious light they emit.

All women walk their life path alone...often living and moving within the shadows of their own life, giving much of their energy to the people they love most, with little or no acknowledgement for such selfless devotion.

But the moments when we connect with other Goddesses, that is when our powers are amplified and heaven and earth tremble from the synergy that is created, stirring the deep wells of our Soul...we are nourished and renewed.

The Goddess Project is about connection and unconditional love ♡

It is my heartfelt vision that women (especially) will put aside judgments of themselves and of each other. We are here to be connectors, not dividers.

Every one of the women you are about to meet is a Goddess in the best sense of the word.

Homeostasis and Hypnosis

Its important to understand why people stay in certain patterns of behavior that they do not enjoy, yet seem unable to change. Homeostasis is a very large part of the puzzle.

"Author George Leonard discusses in his book Mastery how homeostasis affects our behavior and who we are. He states that homeostasis will prevent our body from making drastic changes and maintain stability in our lives even if it is detrimental to us.^[11] Examples include when an obese person starts exercising, homeostasis in the body resists the activity to maintain stability.^[12] Another example Leonard uses is an unstable family where the father has been a raging alcoholic and suddenly stops and the son starts up a drug habit to maintain stability in the family. Homeostasis is the main factor that stops people changing their habits because our bodies view change as dangerous unless it is very slow. Leonard discusses this dilemma as the media today only encourages fast change and quick results. The opening of his book aptly describes his despair with the current state of the world and how it is at war with homeostasis. "The trouble is that we have few, if any, maps to guide us on the journey or even to show us how to find the path. The modern world, in fact, can be viewed as a prodigious conspiracy against mastery. We're continually bombarded with the promises of immediate gratification, instant success, and fast, temporary relief, all of which lead in exactly the wrong direction.""

I have been eating a mostly raw food diet for over a decade. However I was living a life with a certain level of stress and habits that often hindered my efforts to achieve certain goals. I was often frustrated and angry, mostly at myself for not being able to stick with habits that I knew were good for me. It wasn't until I discovered hypnosis that I really began to learn how to change my life-script. Thanks to the help of a very dedicated hypnotherapist, and changing my life partner, I have been able to turn my life around.

Often I have found that people I have talked with about hypnosis, have a very limited idea of what hypnosis is and what it does. I heard a lot of "Oh I cant be hypnotized or I don't want anyone playing around with my head". Truth is people are too busy playing around in their own head and making a mess of things and feel too overwhelmed to allow anyone to help them push through homeostasis.

This post is my way of helping people understand what Hypnosis is and what it can be used for and to dispel the myths surrounding hypnosis.

I recommend the Free Hypnosis 101 course to start with. It has been extremely useful to me and it may be for you as well.

I have taken the course and I LOVE the information that I have learned. Knowing that I can use self-hypnosis to help me stay on track and achieve any goal I set for myself is a very empowering feeling. Real and lasting change for a better/healthier life experience is what most people desire. The surest way for that to happen is learning how to push past homeostasis in a way that is effective...no will-power needed.

Effective change comes in small steps that are seeded in your subconscious mind. Learn how to do this and the world around you begins to reflect the internal changes that your mind starts to accept. It's very important to understand that your own brain is trying to protect you and override conscious decisions you attempt to make when any kind of change is involved...good or bad.

Hypnosis has been a very important and effective tool for me. I have learned not only how to manage stress and to change behaviors that no longer serve me, but I am able to use the power of suggestion to cultivate desired habits and attitudes within myself that allow me to live a very fulfilling and enjoyable life experience.

My moment to moment mantra is:
I know what I dont want, so what do I want?

No matter what is going on in my head or in my life...as any situation arises I make the above statement and then I ask myself what I want. It allows me to re-frame my perception..So I do not feel helpless or out of control, nor do I feel controlled by circumstances that are not what I desire.

In early August of this year, I began with my food. I completely cut animal meat out of my diet. Since then I have lost weight effortlessly...mood/emotions have been balanced and clear. Digestion issues have completely cleared up. I feel awesome and have a lot of good energy. This is what I wanted so of course I am pleased with the results. All around me, I see and hear people talk about all the things that they are unhappy or displeased with in their life. People spend a lot of time consumed with negative stories and beliefs that make it very difficult for a space of love and truth to turn things in their life around. Struggle, anger and frustration seem to be a big part of peoples focus. This was how I felt far too often, until I turned things around with the tools I now use. I am so happy that I am finally getting the hang of manifesting the reality that I want to experience. I no longer feel overwhelmed by the unexpected or by anyone else's unbalanced behavior or actions. I would also like to point out that it is incredibly easy to focus on what you do want once you QUIT thinking and focusing on what you dont!!! The main work is staying on top of your own mind, the stories that you tell yourself and not allowing anyone or anything to tell/convince you otherwise. It also helps to refrain from engaging in negative stories with other people.

Negative emotions are simply there to clue you in...to show you what you dont want. They are a tool. A tool is there to help you, it's not suppose to hinder you, or rule your life...but often people use it as an excuse to say to themselves and to others, "see...this is how it is and I wish it would change but it never will." That kind of thinking is why nothing changes...how can it? What we think and feel is a big part of how we create our life experiences!

So granted...at first, it's not easy to change a lifetime of negative conditioning, but it can be done and no one is going to do it for you...you are the only one who can find the tools that feel right to you and then use them consistently in your life... so you begin to experience a life that feels good, a life that feels good more often then not.

If I can do it...anyone can! ♥

I would suggest starting right away...because it takes time to build up critical mass and you must be willing to push through the old way of reacting...but once you do, the world will truly open up and pour out blessings of love and joy upon you ♥

Meat...eating it blocks energy that is good for my body, good for my spirit, good for my mind! I have come to a very big realization...YES I believe in everyone's right to eat the food that they feel is right for them...but as for myself, I choose to let go of all the attachments to eating animal meat. I am doing this for 1 reason only...I want the energy of the Universe to flow through me without any resistance. I believe that eating meat holds me back...keeps me from being a clear channel. I am willing to expand and grow without eating meat of any kind. I want to see what happens...I want to fly ♡

This will be a big part of my blogging, because my love, my partner is a meat eater and is not ready or willing to stop...and that's OK...because love is NOT about Controlling anyone but yourself ♡

I invite anyone who wants to share information and insight to do so...I want to know your thoughts and feelings...I want to know your actions...share how you live true to yourself and love unconditionally the love(s) of your life.... how you do it while you are not eating meat even if people around you are...how do you cope? how do you do it?

It takes love to grow...

I have been practicing staying in a balanced and sane space...alot lately!

I have been eating Chia seed pudding with child like enthusiasm and pleasure...

I have been moving through tumultuous emotions that have wrung me out like a wet washcloth again and again...

Today as my mind was ranting and venting and my heart was pausing and breathing I heard a song by Edie Brickell that fit so perfectly what I have been going through with someone who was once close to me...

It takes Love...this song said it so beautifully. I just know that after this storm passes the rainbow will sparkle brighter and clearer then ever...it always does!

I am naturally optimistic... maybe its the chia seeds or my dedication to choosing thoughts that feel good especially when it seems most difficult...in the End...it really does take love...to grow past all the drama and misery that we cause ourselves...

I am not a bird, so I decided that I prefer the term Wonderling.
The way a bird takes to the sky is the way a Wonderling takes to Wonderland.
Wonderland is not a place you go..it's what you ARE.
Its a state of mind or being.
Its how you go about your day...feeling good!

Attunement

There are lots of ways I can practice physically to feel attuned!
There are also ways I practice mentally so my thoughts are attuned as well.
A human can be tuned much like a musical instrument.
If I am "In Tune" Then I feel good.
If someone I am interacting with is out of tune, so what?!
My job is not to tune other people!
My best option is choosing Attunement for myself.

What attunes me to happiness and well being?
I believe that Source Energy is what Attunes me to what ever I want to create and experience in my life.

I choose to focus on what I DO want in my life ( not what I dont).

This is a very important aspect of utilizing the Law of Attraction.

I am given plenty of opportunities throughout my day to practice the art of Attunement.

When your out of tune you attract more of the same discord into your life.

It's in my best interest not to focus on the discord but on Attunement.

Devotion.. pure and simple devotion and willingness to practice.

Devotion to Love... to yourself, your life, to Happiness and feeling good, great & wonderful...

I allow the time and attention necessary to practice.

The benefits are enormously rewarding for myself and my loved ones.

When I am "Out of Tune I notice and observe how I feel.
Typically I do not feel good either mentally or physically or both.
This is always my first clue that I am not flowing with Source Energy.
If I am not flowing with Source Energy then I am not in my Wonderland.

From here only One of two things can happen:
1. I ignore how I am feeling and continue with the discomfort.
2. I recognize that I am not feeling good and decide that feeling good is what I prefer.

Attuning to my Source Energy:

1. I Decide what want
2. I Attune with my choice in ways that feel good for me to imagine
3. I Practice the good feelings that the new choice generates in me
4. I Allow myself to receive what I am focused and attuned to
5. I Appreciate and feel pleasant expectation towards my desire and respond as though it is true now.

So Wonderland is simply this:
If you could be anything you want to be and you ARE~that is Wonderland

If you could have anything you desire and you DO~that is Wonderland

If you could feel Content and Well within your whole Being and BE~that is Wonderland

It's a Vibrational Match! Yipppeeeeeeee

When I begin my day, I decide how I want to groove...thoughts and emotions are how I generate a transmission to the Universe. Choosing thoughts that feel good to me are the are key via the Law of Attraction, so easily and effortlessly receiving back into my life what I'm putting out into the world.

Jessica Mullen clearly communicates about The Golden Rule on her site. It's really the only Rule that anyone need ever follow or keep in mind as they move throughout their day!

It sets the tone for the Transmissions you're sending out. Even when you are not trying, you put out a transmission to the Universe. Why be Passive? Choosing Transmissions that feel good is good for you!!

For a happy, balanced life, perfection is not the necessary focus...practice is :)

Practicing the Golden Rule is a perfect start.

I began my morning enjoying fresh juicy pineapple and writing this post and am now off to play in the garden for the afternoon. Soaking up sunshine and fresh air...moving my body.

Saying goodbye to one dream can be overwhelming, especially if it was a life experience you were looking forward to.

It’s been 4 days since I had a miscarriage. For me, the Key is Saying Hello to my new dreams!

I allow the tears to flow when they must, but I don't live in the pain of loss, I refuse to dwell in the hollow cave of suffering and confusion...it doesn't feel good to me, so I choose not to hang out there.

When life takes unexpected turns, having the tools to help me focus and direct my own emotional state of Well-Being is essential. Reaching for thoughts that feel good, in the midst of trauma and personal suffering is not only do-able, it is a MUST for my happiness and sanity.

I am not a vacant well, waiting to be filled with endless amounts of pain and misery.

I am a Well-Spring.

Overflowing with ceaseless devotion to live, creating and experiencing beauty and joy in my own life.

I recognize that living a life of my own creation requires major commitment on my part and selfishness of the best kind...the willingness to flow with life...moving in direction’s that feel good to me. If I am Selfish and put my happiness first, then sharing my happiness with others is a Selfless act of Joy, the best kind really!

To accomplish this means I must understand how to use my emotions constructively.

I begin each day envisioning and feeling my way as I create a space of appreciation in my life, which always leads to feeling good! The alternative is when I do not focus my intention on appreciation...it seems to automatically create a space of pain and confusion in my life which never feels good.

Change can and does happen suddenly at times and what I was expecting, became unexpected. However, I find that I am willing and able to flow with this experience...I am able to continue to see the beauty all around me, inviting thoughts that feel good to me and creating a rich and fulfilling life for myself, regardless of the changes that come...

What is more important than living my life in the most joyful fashion possible?

There are no setbacks, only possibilities...and I am a curious creature, so for me, nothing is more important than my happiness which means Creating my own Wonderland to thrive in!
