  • Thrilled to have a house. Freshly roasted coffee this morning. A full sized fridge. Meatloaf in the oven. Unpacking my kitchen boxes. #

  • Stranded in Van Buren, MO with a busted power steering line. 2 guys helped me out. I'll have to write all about my adventure tomorrow. Yawn #
  • Waiting on a tow truck in Van Buren, Mo. Kids are missing their first day of school. Pray the mechanic can get us on the road quick. #
  • The tow truck cometh… and taketh away my Buick away. We're going to hike to McDonalds and get some breakfast. It's a rural MO adventure. #
  • Long soggy hike to McDs and back. Their debit card machine is down. Lovely. Thankfully I had enough cash on me for 3 dollar menu items. #
  • Asked for a late check out. Norm (motel owner) came and checked on us. Said our mechanic is slow and there is only one part store in town. #
  • I should get my car back this afternoon. Decided not to enroll the kids in Springfield school. We must find a house near Ft. Wood this week. #
  • The power steering pump is out. They don't have the part in town. We're stuck here until tomorrow. #
  • Moving to a different motel that's closer to our mechanic and some restaurants. #
  • No cash. (Lightning hit the ATM) No car. (RIP Ford Taurus, See you soon Buick baby) No house. (Mmm the smell of musty motel in the morning.) #
  • Update: We might not need a new pump. Might leave town today. Meanwhile, we're just sitting outside soaking up the wifi and fresh air. #
  • On the road again! We didn't have to get a pump. We're headed to Springfield. #
  • We pulled into Springfield at 5:30 p.m. Apparently I had either forgotten or repressed the traffic situation in my hometown. #
  • The Candlewood suites in Springfield is beautiful. We're taking advantage of a few free nights Joel earned in Kansas. #
